Celebrated Mother’s Day, 2026 at Southbank - second visit in 12 months. Ordered garlic bread & pork belly for entree, then steak, chicken breast and beef burger for mains, followed by crème brûlée for dessert. Cannot fault a single thing. Our wait staff were incredible!! So accommodating and friendly, remaining professional at all times. The atmosphere is dark and moody - it’s great! Situated facing the river, this restaurant is a must for foodies!! See you next time Do yourself a favour and park at Wilson’s Riverside Quay - $20 pre-book and super close to the restaurant!!
EntreenBruschetta: A nice portion sized starter, with refreshing taste.nnThe Mains:nThe New Yorker steak was cooked to my liking - Medium, seasoned well and paired with Peppercorn Sauce. The seafood was equally good; both the Barramundi and the Salmon Skewer were delicate, flaky, and well seasoned.nnThe Sides:nTruffle Mac and Cheese was a bit meh, the pasta used looks like the same one from Kraft Mac and Cheese, would've preferred elbow macaroni. The 'truffle' was light which is considered subjective taste preference, however, for me - it was lacking.nnThe Hasselback Potatoes were pretty good, providing a great texture and a nice twist on a classic side.nnThe DrinksnThe beverage list offers something for everyone. The Peanut Butter Old Fashioned was the real star—a sophisticated, nutty, and creative take on a classic cocktail that paired surprisingly well with the richness of the steak.nnOverall ImpressionnThe atmosphere at the Southbank location is sophisticated yet welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a special occasion or a high-quality dinner by the Yarra. High-quality ingredients and expert preparation make this a must-visit.nnRating: 4/5
We ate here for the first time, to celebrate my partners birthday before heading to a show in the city. There was nothing wrong with the food, it was nice enough. We both enjoyed a steak, with chips and sauce. However, I don’t think it was worth the cost, hence the 3 stars. In terms of value, the steak was nice but not special, sauce was $6 extra and it was a choice between chips or salad. 2 steaks, 2 sauces, a wine and a beer, $192. I have no issue paying this price, but I do think you should feel you’ve had an above average meal at this expense. However, I can appreciate this is my own experience.nAll staff were friendly and attentive.
Went there for my birthday with my partner and it was marvellous! Everything from the vibes, decor, and obviously the delicious food!nThe dry aged meat was sensational and cooked blue just how I requested I had the best amaretto sour in a very long time!!nEverything was excellent and the service was lovely too. Checking in often without disturbing you. Will definitely be back, thanks team
We picked this restaurant to celebrate my sister-in-law’s anniversary. According to her feedback, the garlic bread, scallops, lamb skewers and chocolate fondant were the standouts. She thought the cauliflower was a bit of a shortcut — it seemed blanched before being grilled, and she felt it would taste much better if it were grilled from scratch. I've had the 200g Monte fillet steak 3 times, and I think this time was the best.
