Booked for 4 people on a Wednesday night. Was seated quickly. The blinds were down and heaters in which made it nice for a winters evening with still having a view of darling harbor. We wanted a bottle of wine and the staff were helpful with tastings but none of the bottles were to our liking. We each ordered one drink or glass. Selection was small for reasonably priced wine. Ordered share plates for the table. Roti, spring rolls, curry, mixed vegetables and noodles. Portion sizes were small and other than the curry, the sauces were not very flavorful. Missing ambience just an open room with no decor and cheap tables and chairs. For King St Wharf I had expected more. Ended up being $75 each. Was okay but would not visit again.
Great location overlooking Darling Harbour. The food is delicious and the service is spectacular. The wine list is extensive though some a little more expensive than expected. Definitely worth enjoying a relaxed lunch or dinner.Food: 4/5
Our dinner date at this restaurant was nothing less than Magnificent The ambience was perfect and the table that was offered to us had a nice view. Drinks were extremely good and the food was gorgeous...especially the fish curry. Attendants were sweet, and dining here was value for money.
I been eating the excellent Malaysian food at Malaya Restaurant for more than 25 years. First at George Strret Sydney, then North Sydney and now at their new home at King Street Wharf. Always an excellent feed. Prices are a bit higher at King Street Wharf but you get excellent service, water views and the same excellent Malaysian food. Yum!
One of my favourite Malaysian & Singapore restaurants. It's a hidden gem. Not sure why it's located where it's now . Rich in ingredients & loved thier spice food. Loved thier pork curry & prawns. I am definitely coming one more time & surely recommending to anyone who would love some fine dining with some spice Asian food.
We had the set menu and it was a great way to sample more of the dishes. Personally I love the beef rendang, otak-otak and the salt and pepper prawns, which were very delicious. Lovely setting and the service was prompt.Food: 4/5
Service is good. Tables spread out. Good food. Great sauces. Did find a piece of tape in one piece of food so they replaced the food and gave a decent discount. Good banquet offerings.
This restaurant was a favourite of mine in my student days decades ago when the space was smaller as well as the cost and the food was amazing! . My wife booked for my birthday and I was pleased to find that, although a few things had changed, the food remained simply amazing. I recommend the original curry.Food: 5/5
One of the best dinner experience we had in Sydney. Pat, the one who served us that evening made sure everything was perfect. If you are in city, do visit this place.
I tried the $25 chicken laksa, and the broth was good, but it was definitely not worth the price tag. For $25, you only get chicken, tofu, bean sprouts, coriander, and rice noodles. The size serving is good, but where are the other veggies? Where's the fish cakes? Where's the hokkien noodle? You could easily get a laksa else where with all the mentioned toppings for half the price else where. Flavours are good but not worth the price tag.
