This review is solely based on The Cured and Culture menu. This reasonable tasting menu is great value in terms of the number of items you get, not to mention that you are dining at an Australian icon. There does seems to be too many “finger type” foods (aside from oysters, 3 out of 7 dishes were small morsels). There is also a lack of exceptional dishes and nothing really stood out, with the exception of dessert - Raspberry in 5 textures was beautifully done. Then again, for $65 you really shouldn’t expect too much, and it is definitely worth trying once if you ever want to dine at the Opera House

Always wanted to go, had high hopes but met all my expectation. Perfection place to dine on special occasions. The staff is so well dressed and helpful to assist, the atmosphere is amazingly classy and the food is superbly delicious. Probably one of the bets restaurant experience I've ever had in Sydney and being next to the iconic Opera House, nothing gets better than this.

Beautiful location. But the experience to dine at the bar was not good at all. Very poor service. Waitress was unable to explain the menu or recommend any meals. We were interested to select the degustation menu, but was not clear how it works. Should have been a much nicer experience. Does not worth the great location.

Fantastic location, I liked the limited menu as it made it easier to choose, amazing food. The Barramundi was exceptional! Our waitress was lovely and very attentive. Can't wait to go back.

Having eaten here a few times in the past I was excited to try the food under Peter Gilmore. I had my lover with me who had never been before and our experience was less than pleasant. It was just ok! We sat at the bar which afforded us little view of outside. The food prices were unfortunately consistent with having a great view so that was a bit of a bummer to say the least! Our waitress explained how the menu worked and recommended we choose a few plates from the “share plates” menu, which we did. Well, we cut our losses after that and left to get something else to fill the rest of the hole in our stomachs, as the portions were beyond ridiculously small and all three plates would not have been enough for one person! One of the dishes was a gourmet sausage roll which we witnessed the chef trim the ends off and throw them away.... whaaat? That was about $10 worth of my sausage roll just thrown in the bin!! All in all we had a good laugh at the experience and will just stick with dining in places where you don’t leave hungry after paying a small fortune for some very small portions of very average food.
