I gave this IGA a 1 star because of bad business ethics. The old fellow serving behind the counter decided to approach me search my bag. I could have easily interrogated him but I let him have a peek in my bag. By law, only security guards at the front of the store are allowed to check bags. I felt like a thief rd their eyes and in their mind. I understand he was doing his job. But he didn't understand how the security industry works. Don't go to this store if you don't want.someone peeking into your bag. That's what the electronic sensors are for isn't it? Not much variety in this store to be honest. Will never set foot into any IGA again. Avoid them at all cost. I think someone in here mentioned about your day getting ruined if you go into this store. Well he's absolutely right. Just another food retail outlet who have no idea what customer value is. STAY AWAY from IGA Castle Hill!!
Worst store ever. All produce is expired and off - even a jar of mayonnaise was so smelly. The manager is an unshaven arrogant sloppy looking individual who treats you like trash. He watches you in the aisles and has staff constantly checking bags and accusing people of theft. Today, he treated me terribly tying to return a product that was once again 'off'. He went to the extent of checking video footage and no apology once he allowed me to get a replacement product. It was disgraceful. Read the reviews even from 2 years ago. They are all the same as my concerns. I will be alerting health authorities. NEVER GO HERE!!!
Not that it matters as the store is closing down as I write this, disappointed it’s closing as it’s always been handy for a quick grocery shop without having to tackle the chaos of Castle towers. However did not appreciate the older man who is always there believe him to be a manager following me today and looking at me as though I was going to steal something. Very uncomfortable especially as I go in all the time and do not steal. The french man who served at the counter is lovely but do not like the terrible manager.
If u want to have a crappy day. Come here, the store manager Peter can help u. He told me if you don't like it. Don't shop here. Also sell lots of expired food at 10% or so discount. Expired a few months ago Edible??
I was shopping with my buddy’s and we were looking at some productskeep in mind I’m only 14 then this angry old guy I presume the manager comes up behind us and and says “get out” and acusing us for stealing then he gives us a whole body search. I feel bad for the young lady behind the register. Do not come here if you are under 20 as you obviously have to be stealing.
IGA Castle Hill is one of the worst I have seen. They sell expired products. They sell fresh poultry which has totally gone off. The other I bought whole chicken which had few days before expiry but I open the pack and got a terrible foul smell. Threw the entire packet as I was scared to eat. Also had bone chicken thigh prices and the same happened. OH MY GOD I will never buy from IGA again !!!!. When there are so many Coles and woolies around the corner never by mistake step into an IGA again. Health authorities should do a random inspection and I'm sure they will find something wrong with these guys.
An older store in need of a make-over. They have the catalogue items in stock each week, quite often the specials are great value. This is a store which offers a loyalty program and help local charities and clubs.
Out of date products. I returned some peanut butter that was nearly 2 months out of date. Instead of being thanked for pointing out the error I was challenged as I didn't have the receipt. The grumpy old workers attitude was disgusting. The stores response, put up new signs detailing the stores returns policy... PATHETIC
Spotlessly clean, organised and tidy. Wide aisles - very customer friendly. Excellent frontline customer service. Parking & access very convenient. Well done everybody ! Tiny
Me and the boys were shopping like you do and this old man told us to leave because he thought we were gonna rob them unbelievable and unsatisfactory. Why would I steal your expired products? Don’t go here this man doesn’t care about his customers
