The Castle Hill Spotlight store is great. Undercover free parking is excellent although the lift to the store is a little small. They stock all their usual brands and everything being advertised. The staff are very friendly and helpful, being able to quickly direct us to what we wanted to purchase. Given the massive size of the store it can be difficult to find particular products so just ask any staff member. The check out is surprisingly quick with both self checkout and service counters. All up a great store - highly recommended.
Spotlight Castle Hills floor stock vs online quantities rarely line up, I'd strongly suggest calling ahead rather than relying on the online store to decide if they jave something. They are also quick to say sorry no stock or my favourite whats on the floor is it without checking computers or asking someone to look out the back. They seem fine to lose the sale rather than offering to bring in stock or find an alternative stock source unless really pressed.
WoW I didn’t know spotlight had so much variety, not just material and sewing. I found a new bed set and serving tray.nnThey have Manchester, kitchenware, arts and crafts.. and so much more. Store was a bit messy and there seemed to be something new around every corner. But couldn’t find price tags on items which was frustrating. All things considered I would recommend and I will come back!
Went in my lunch break to pick up a click & collect - staf inara was cutting up fabric for another customer - I Waite witw waitednAnother staff member came over with a full trolley of stock - I assumed she would serve me as saw me waiting —- but I didn’t proceeded to talk to other staff members still cutting up - re a problem with some click & collects picked this morning - I politely said “ sorry to interrupt can I please pick my c&c ?”nWell I’ve never been berated so condescendly from a Service assistant - she said “ look I’m on a different system - you will have to wait till I’m finished this trolley - “ she was holding 2 portable machines - surely she could of used 1 of them to process my pick upnI honestly was shocked - I had to watch her finish stacking parcels out of trolley onto the shelf !!nOnce finished - she said - have you got your c&c notification ready - yes have so ready for last 15 minutes !!nThen her machine could not read my barcode she asked me to call our order number - then studied my drives licence number like I was not the person to pick upnHonestly the whole experience was terrible - for a person working in customer service she needs a real hard look at herself & the way she talks to her livelihood - cause let’s face it without customers she would not have a job !!!
I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received during my recent visit.nnI initially came into the store looking for an item and was told by a staff member that it wasn’t available. I then placed a Click & Collect order online, which was ready within an hour, so I returned to collect it.nnWhen I arrived, the Click & Collect counter was unattended. I went to a regular checkout to ask for assistance, and the staff member there was extremely rude. She abruptly told me to go back to the Click & Collect counter, insisting there was “always someone there.” The way she spoke to me was dismissive and made me feel as though I was incompetent for asking for help.nnI returned to the Click & Collect counter and waited. I rang the bell several times, and another customer ended up waiting alongside me. During this time, multiple employees walked past us without acknowledging us or offering any assistance. We were left standing there for around 30 minutes.nnEventually, the other customer became understandably frustrated and repeatedly rang the bell. Only then did one of the employees who had previously walked past us come over to help. She appeared completely unconcerned, casually chatting with another employee as she approached, as though she was on a break rather than responding to customers who had been waiting for a significant amount of time.nnWhat upset me most was that I genuinely felt we would have continued to be ignored had the other customer—a white gentleman—not made a scene. As a person of colour, this left me feeling racially discriminated against. Whether intentional or not, that was how the interaction made me feel, particularly because this is not the first time I have experienced poor treatment at this store.nnNo customer should be ignored for half an hour while staff walk past without acknowledging them. I hope Spotlight takes this feedback seriously and addresses both the customer service standards and the way customers are treated.
