Smales Farm Bus Station

A large busway station on the Smales Farm location. Proximity to the Smales Farm business park makes the commute for the employees easy. The building is nice and spacious. Easy access is available by both private and public transport. The signage is clear and well displayed everywhere. The customer service centre has a small kiosk where one can buy and top up the hop cards. Any other queries are also resolved in the available hours.

Superb service from staff helping me get a hop card and register my Goldcard. Knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.

I loved it. Got to drop my kids off there for a brownies trip which meant I had 5 hours to myself. Fond memories.

All good, not a normal port of call. I went here to renew my Gold Hop card as it was cracked and not working. ALL fixed and working. I noticed this bus Station now has a Coffee Bar. Very busy place

Regular traveller. Good parking and bike facilities. There's a little coffee shop too. Opens quite early. The 2 toilets are usually quite clean.

Have missed two 83 route buses here because they left 3 to 4 minutes ahead of the timetable times on the digital board by the stop on Platform D. Because traffic is light currently and they have fewer passengers, buses are streaking along with no regard to timetable. AT being AT, they are a law to themselves. Not impressed.

Often the public toilets are full during busy commuting times. The free WiFi isn't worth attempting to connect to. There are no USB charging outlets and only a couple of 240 Volt 3 pin sockets if your phone needs charging while waiting. However the staff at the Customer Service desk are very helpful and professional. The waiting areas are clean and tidy and the signage both fixed and electronic are clear and well placed. The native New Zealand plant gardens add to the overall appearance and look healthy and well maintained. There is a drop off and pick up car bay right next to the bus stop but no longer term park and ride nearby. It's an easy flat walk to nearby North Shore Hospital or the Goodside food retailers but you'll need an umbrella or a weather proof hoodie if it's raining. The Busway Station has multiple security cameras and an emergency phone. There are snack and soft drink vending machines inside the Busway waiting area Many North Shore buses pass through Smales Farm so it is a conveniently placed public transport hub if you need to change buses.
