I prefer NZ Bus to H&E, much better service. Sadly, I don’t see many NZ Bus out inEastern suburbs but definitely catch the town buses. I trust my life in their hands in comparison to H&E.

How do you train your drivers? Set off from the side of the road, move to the right hand lane when perfectly safe to stay in left lane in preparation for next stop and then force your way in again and hitting my car in the process, no slowing down just keep going. Poor planning and excuse is "I indicated" News for you,but it is your responsibility to change lanes safely not everyone around you. Very poor!!! Not even 5000km on the car and idiot bus driver manages to damage both bloody sides by pushing me into a kerb. Wouldn't trust you to drive me around at all. I'd be happy to offer you some training you moron of a bus driver. If it was a motorcyclist, you could've killed him.

Its hard to give NZ Bus one star, I'd prefer to give them none. Firstly, the buses themselves are, in the majority, black smoke belching pieces of crap. Some date back to the 1990s, and most have brake air valves that can deafen people. Considering the general public subsidise this fleet I expect better vehicles, less pollution and maintenance that doesn't include their mechanic dumping oil on Remuera Rd. Next, the poor driving. I have no idea where NZ Bus recruit their drivers from, but they are typically inconsiderate and dangerous. AT record close to 3000 complaints per year about buses in Auckland. Clearly any re-training or action taken against poor driving is not working. On my daily commute I see buses running red lights, buses parked over top of cycle advance boxes, buses passing too close to cyclists, running cyclists into kerbs, letting passengers on/off in traffic (not at bus stops), entering intersection when the exit is not clear...resulting in buses across pedestrian crossing on pedestrian phases. I would rather walk then catch a NZ Bus.

Their Bus driver hit my motorcycle and run away. Although I had many witnesses, I never had single apology from them and they refused to pay for the damage. The clame dept. officer was keep changing and every time new one came, I had to start from beginning. This case went all the way to court, but they did not show up and I automatically won... but that was how they really wasted my time and they were just waiting for me to give up. Even after they lose, they denied to pay said "We could not afford $4000 " because the company is in RED. This kind of simple case took 9 month to solve because of their lazy attitude. Big company... but just dirty ugly people.

Majority of drivers are real good and unfortunately are let down by the minority, who naturally get more publicity.
