A little treasure among all the new buildings. The atmosphere at the entrance and the bar reminded me of the "Peaky Blinders" set. Very good food, tap beers and ales, and even non-alcoholic Gin and Tonic.
My parents and I enjoyed The Albert as our first meal in London. It was a beautiful sunlit and stylish pub. Very popular as there were reservations on almost every table. The fish and chips were absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed the British steak and ale pie. The sausage alone was different than what we’re used to but when you do a sausage, gravy and mash combo it was scrumptious! We were famished and it hit every spot for us!
Came in for lunch on good Friday after the Colonies closed their kitchen and glad we did. Good selection of drink, good service, and food was tasty too we had the steak pie and a burger. Tables were a bit grubby and wasn't too sure that charred cabbage with my pie was cooked thoroughly but considering this is near the heart of Victoria, it was actually quite pleasent and not a total rip off.
This was our first pub stop in London while here for work. It was a fun spot for sure with what looked to be a nice mix of younger locals as well as tourists. They had a nice selection beers on tap with friendly bar tenders. The food was good as well and a very large portion. The place was packed which is always a good sign.
It’s a cozy local pub with lots of history in it there’s a sign outside of the building about it. Very friendly stuff & delicious food & beer that were served in no time.
Th Albert was our quintessential pub stop on our trip to London. The pub was super cool, it definitely scratched the itch and didn’t disappoint. The drinks were good, the food was good, the staff were friendly, the ambiance was on point. I ordered the fish and chip it was mediocre, but serviceable and we also ordered the halloumi and chips this was shockingly delicious. Definitely worth the stop if you’re looking for a pub to visit in London!
The pie was really good, sadly this place loses points because the IPA was not available on tap and the pie took a very long time to arrive during Saturday lunch. Would definitely try again and update the score.
The exterior of this traditional pub is beautiful, and I love the contrast with the modern Victoria Street buildings surrounding it. The ground floor is one enormous bar, with the very high ceiling adding to the feeling of space. There is also a large dining room upstairs and a small cosy room downstairs. Greene King ales were well kept. Staff were friendly but not quick at clearing away plates from empty tables, despite not appearing to be too busy which always leaves me with a poor impression. Nevertheless I would return.
we saw this pub almost every day b/c it was close to our airbnb and so glad we finally tried it on our last day in london! great ambience inside, and we were so happy that food was still served late on a saturday night-- and it was probably the best fish & chips we had! fish is fresh, hot, and crispy and generous portion.
We have tried fish & chips and drunk London Pilsner and watched a premier league game. Best decision we have done for an evening in a typical British pub! We will come again
