Don’t know why there are so many low ratings for the station. It’s perfect. You arrive, hop on your train and leave. Exactly what a train station should do.

The Northern Explorer is a spectacular trip to Wellington, passing through lots of scenic sites in between. However this station is a fair way away from Auckland CBD (30-40 minutes walk), Britomart would have been far easier to get to from the CBD (not to mention a key hub for public transport).
