I'm going to 3rd that review above and just say "Don't". We've been camping around Tasmania for the past 2 weeks and pulled in here to get a cabin out of the heavy rain. If you're chasing a roof over your head and aren't fussed on cleanliness, go for it. But if you're chasing a clean, well maintained and comfortable room... "Don't". Clearly no one had been in our cabin for a long time as the place was generally covered in dust or spider webs, the curtains were covered in mould, the main bed was filled with ants, supplied cooking equipment was dirty, and the place is generally falling apart. The Mrs and I ended up camping on the floor choosing to avoid the ant bed, as well as not having the conviction to sleep in the bed that showed clear evidence of the previous tenants satisfaction of the room and bed in the form of a large white stain left on the sheets of the bed and mascara lines on the pillows. I mean good on ya mate, but a simple machine wash gets that out of sheets... So again, if you've got the energy to keep going, pull up, make a cup of tea, turn up the music, talk to the Mrs on the way, fire up the kids, whatever works, but I'd keep on driving towards strahan or further north towards burnie...

Small individual cabins for backpackers are a pleasure to stay in, and a bargain if you're after some space of your own. Facilities are serviceable, and the IGA in town is just a walk away and has decent prices. Rosebery is a nice town to wander around, dominated by the mine but still pretty, though you'd want transport to explore further if you stayed for any length of time.

Great to stay with your campervan. Quiet place. The toilets are very clean and the showers with hot water. Cheap.

The wonderful thing about sunsets is that it doesn't discriminate about the place. The cabins have clean bathroom facilities but other things are in sad need of repair eg broken fly screen, fly screen door falling off rollers, mouldy curtains, broken hooks in shower. No attention has been given to landscaping it would appear. The common shower block and laundry facilities need cleaning and a good paint job. However, the electric frying pan and microwave works and there is a very clean mirror in the cabin and adequate power points. Cabin also comes with a fan. Hot water works well. My conclusion is that what can be reasonably cleaned upon vacating is done quite well. But general maintenance side needs more attention and they need to think about replacing rusty can opener and worn out kitchen brushes and such things more frequently rather than wait for guests to tell them about it. We did kill a very large spider upon arrival though and some gigantic flying ant. Two new washing machines were installed yesterday. The staff have varying degrees of helpfulness. But beggars can't be choosers when accommodation within driving distance to Cradle Mountain is concerned. This is pretty much a one horse town in spite of the active mining presence. And there is an IGA in this town. To be fair the cabin was fully functional and there's plenty of dish detergent provided and the kettle was practically brand new and very quiet. It could just be the luck of the draw. We stayed 6 nights and there were 5 of us. The cabin was a good distance from other cabins so noise wasn't an issue.

It could be improved... The unpowered campsites don't look very safe.
