I am a huge fan of science centers! I often have a membership in a local one and visit others when I am traveling, utilizing the ASTC passport program for free entry. I did that today while traveling in Canberra, my first international center. I wish I'd had more time here. This is by far the BEST I have visited ever. Totally engaging. Fun toys and experiences for kids and grownups too. They deserve 6 out of 5 stars. Outstanding!
Questacon. A quest for science lovers and curious minds alike.nnEverything was mind blowing here, the showcasing, the art, the activities, they all had the perfect mixture of fun and science in them! The fire show is my personal favourite, it was lit - literally!nnI recommend going to Questacon if you're curious about science, or anything in general; it's truly a thrilling experience! Oh yeah, and bring your friends and family too, Questacon is too good to experience alone!
Fantastic few hours spent at Questacon, it never disappoints. Enough change to keep it fresh and then some consistent favourites. Tickets are cheaper to buy at the venue, which is weird but I suppose demand could be an issue taking that risk. We went 1st week of NSW school holidays and it was quiet enough. Plenty of paid parking seems everywhere in Canberra is paid parking $16 for 4 hours. Food is really good in the cafe, fresh, tasty and some other options besides burgers. Lego have a fantastic exhibit so we spent heaps of time in that room. Dinosaur talk is so worth making time for, really fun and informative.
This is an excellent place to learn science.nThe museum is divided into 8 areas positioned throughout a spiral tower. It is primarily targeted at kids but it's also quite fun for adults. The recommended time to spend in the centre was 2-4 hours but we spent the whole day there.nThere is a science show included as well, and the one showing at our visit was about fire. It is both educational and exciting and I would recommend it.
Great place for curious little minds, small science/logical concepts based on tiny little fun things/activity for little ones.nMy kids had a blast. Lego World was a hit followed by the earth/science area.nTiny Cafe in there provides nice coffee and snacks too.
