Story

This new veterinary hospital represents a state-of-the-art multi-disciplinary specialist center for pets. It is currently the largest and most advanced full service animal hospital operating as a stand alone private business in Victoria. It is the first facility in Melbourne to offer 24 hour vets on duty combined with medical and surgical specialists. The clinic is owned by vets not investors so that decisions are made in the best interests of animal care.

We aim to provide all pet owners with compassion and a high standard of veterinary care to improve patient outcomes and help pets live longer and healthier lives. Our three most important goals are: being committed to offering Melbourne’s pet owners a comprehensive pet care team, providing excellence in communication with you the customer and your family vet, and developing new treatments by actively leading the profession in continuing education of all of our nursing and veterinary staff. We hope to treat many sick and injured pets and return them back to full health.

Our heartfelt thanks to Jana and Chris for the life saving care they provided for our treasured family member Imelda. The detailed information they shared and the patience and empathy they showed us, helped to give us the clarity we needed to make the right decisions during a very stressful situation. Jana is an incredibly knowledgable Vet who is not only talented, she shows deep, authentic empathy which radiates the trust that you’re looking for in an emergency situation. Chris is a gifted surgeon who didn’t take risks, who weighed up all the options and included us in the decision making process. He is hands-on, and like Jana seemed to be visible all of the time. Most importantly I noticed he really values his team. Imelda is now well on the road to recovery and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you!

This place was our worst nightmare. Please BEWARE. Our five kilo small pup had a plate put in her leg after corrective surgery by Chris Preston (which was not cheap but we believed we were in good hands). On almost the last day after six weeks confined to a pen our pup apparently moved the wrong way and the plate snapped and her leg broke. We took her back for emergency surgery on the Friday and she was left in a cage until the following Wednesday before being operated on. Each time we called we were told there were other emergencies. The morning after surgery Chris Preston called and said not to come in as things were “not good”. Our pup’s leg was probably “dead” we were told. Well she did recover and we brought her home after 11 days of agony in that nightmare place and were told skin grafts would most probably be necessary if the leg did recover. She miraculously recovered much to the amazement and complete surprise of Chris Preston (and apparently three other vets who saw her)? We had to pay a large amount for the second surgery as well as for the first. Why did the original plate break? I hope we can save as many animals as we possibly can with this review.

My little girl Harriet was looked after so beautifully by the amazing ICU staff. There was always a few treatment options discussed each time I visited or got a call from the staff and in the end after surgery and then supportive care she was able to come home safe and sound! Worth every penny A great team doing an awesome job, round the clock. Thanks everybody!

Stay away from these unethical immoral money hungry people. My poor puppy suffered a broken leg and was bought in for surgery. Don’t know what they did to him but I’ve never seen him so traumatised. However I did he right thing and paid the over inflated price of $6250. 6 weeks later I bring him in and they tell me that the plate they inserted has become infected and I need to pay for additional surgery but they can’t quote exact amount. Total scammers. Wish I had read the reviews but since it was an after hours emergency i rushed to the closest 24hr vet. Will never return and making it a case to report to VCAT and vet registration board. Seems I’m not the only person they have taken advantage of.

SCAM ALERT: Wow I went to this place years ago and "Dr" Chris said our dog needed Elbow Surgery. Turns out a few scans/ X Rays and surgery later he was fine.......Oh yeah here is the kicker. Still cost me $3500. At one point he was talking about aligning the dogs elbows with his shoulders by sawing the bone in half.....YEAH. I drew the line there and often wonder if he would have. I notice I am not the only person who has similar experience. Go there, get charged $$$$$. Good Luck.
