This place has such a very good vibe. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming and perfectly set up for a movie night.
Having just returned from abroad where customer service is a priority, our ‘Wicked’ the movie matinee was a masterclass in the opposite.nnThe theatre was arctic. A polite request for adjustment was met with an airy “No problem”—a promise as empty as the warmth in the room. A young family nearby resorted to layering up.nnPersistence led only to a boy manager's decree: a made-up “industry standard” temperature could not be altered, lest others be discomforted. The irony of ones visible discomfort was lost on him.nnWe spent the performance in a slow freeze, finally beginning to thaw towards the end of 2 hr 40min movie.nGood movie; service a wicked disappointment.
Nice treatment from staff at reception, good movie. But disgusting treatment from a self-serving officious centre security guard no 06 who stole our locked bicycles, placed well out of the way, and dragged them out to dump them in the street. Never been treated SO badly by this ghoul when we asked what had happened to our bikes.nI will NEVER come back here to view any movies. If you travel by bicycle, AVOID like the plague.
Enjoyed the movie 3D Avatar 3: Fire & Ash at Palace Cinemas. I love their way to deliver the movie which has a window with a laser projector located on top of the cinema room. This is my first time to have an experience with this tradition way of movie delivery.
Well, having a soft spot for Elsternwick Cinema this will be difficult to be fair. Its not welcoming walking in, there's minimal seating to sit and have a chat before a movie, alcohol is expensive but good range and the staff are very friendly. It was a little understaffed at 8pm on a Saturday night, we didn't even show our tickets. Its a place that shows movies and nothing more.
