Onehunga Community Library was opened in December 2002.

Story

We are a medium sized library with a community focus. We offer a great selection of material, free internet and computer use, friendly staff and wonderful free events such as Storytimes and Wriggle and Rhume.

Nice library. Interior setting and shelves are good but can be improved. Collection of books need attention.

Great staff. Always helpful particularly to children and older citizens.  My only criticism is the pre-schoolers' weekly singalong sessions which should be held in the lobby outside the main library area. The noise created is not condusive to study or reading which is after all the prime purpose of a library. Auckland City can be very proud of its libraries and the associated digital services.

I hand out 5 stars one one simple rule - good staff. They have good staff here, helpful and knowledgeable. The book ordering system is hassle free and most books come to you within a day or two, such a great service.  It and CAB and one of the few reasons I pay my rates. Cut them Auckland council, and I will not pay.
