I was really impressed with the room. It was modern, attractive, comfortable and well-equipped – there was even a washing machine and a little dishwasher! I also appreciated the large fridge-freezer. The bed was huge and very comfy.nnThe view from the balcony was great, over the river and towards the sea in the distance. I thought the price was exellent value – I've been travelling in Australia the last few months and have paid more for a dated, dingy motel room with just a kettle, bar fridge and microwave before for preparing food and drinks.nnWe didn't have trouble parking our Hilux – there was plenty of space on the second floor of the carpark. The location was great for taking a ferry to Magnetic Island the next morning.nnRecommend!

The room was clean and tidy, with a gorgeous view of the marina and Home Hill in the distance. We booked this hotel as it was one of the only options available for a late check-in; however, we did need to call the contact number multiple times and wait around 25 minutes to be let into the hotel. Despite this, it was still a good stay.

Perfect location for events in Townsville. Close to Queensland Country Bank Stadium. It’s at the end of the food and entertainment hub of Palmer St making it the ideal place to stay a few nights.nnOur room had a large fridge, double hot plate, microwave, jug, toaster, so simple cooking would be possible. The room was also equipped with a washer and dryer.nnSome features were a bit worn/tired. The pleather chair was peeling and the paint under the air conditioner was coming off - likely due to having leaked over time.nnThe room was clean, the bed comfortable and the shower was great.nnOur room had a balcony the looked over Townsville to Castle Hill.nnThere’s also a gym and pool for guests.

We booked through a 3rd party company, the company was nice to deal with. But the staff at the front desk well. We accidentally left our key on the table we approached the front desk and they advised us they had a spare key but needed the 3rd party to contact them. They made some sort of excuse as they didn't like the look off us. As the boys were wearing no shoes and we are a bit rough around the edges  we are from the country  they were so rude to us, we'd just been to Coles and had all cold food for dinner and we had to wait for over an hour for a handy man  friend of the 3rd party to bring the spare key over to us! So rude

Great quiet hotel. Well appointed with laundry, large fridge, dishwasher,etc. Some of the rooms have great views of Magnetic Island. The metropole compliments this hotel with great food and service.
