Story

Rambutan is Main land Australia's first ever 5 star backpackers accommodation located right in the heart of the nightlife in Townsville city. All accommodation is now part of the YHA network! So if you are a YHA member you can receive great discounts across Townsville Queensland. Nominated for 2 design and building awards the resort itself has an impressive 58 rooms and powered van sites to accommodate a multitude of travellers. Will live music every weekend and backpackers games and deals through the week you are sure to find something new to do in and around Rambutan.

From playful dorms to stylish king rooms, each with their own private en-suite and air-conditioning, guests at Rambutan can enjoy every bit of luxury during their stay without the hefty price tag.

Having kept every type of traveller in mind, Rambutan’s pioneering concept of underground mobile van sites, allow travellers on the go, to park in a secure spot, have access to power and make use of the resorts facilities.

Our onsite restaurant open seven days, from 12pm featuring a Southern American inspired menu including 16 hour slow cooked Brisket and 12 Inch Cuban Po boy’s.

Rambutan’s rooftop bar and pool are the perfect place for locals and backpackers to socialise over a few drinks and indulge in the resort's laid-back ambience.
