The most social hostel I've ever stayed in!nIt's so easy here to connect and have a good time with new friends. I stayed here for 3 months and I'm still happy I chose bounce.nIt's in the centre of cairns so everything you need is just a couple minutes walk away.nIt's a party hostel but I still got enough sleep because at midnight they stop playing music and the night manager always reminded the people outside to be quiet.nAlso the people at the reception are doing a good job they are very friendly and happy to help you.nI also love the housekeeping. I became friends with many of them so now I can watch my friends every morning cleaning for me. ;
One of my favourite hostels! I absolutely loved staying at bounce. As they say it really is like a second family! The perfect hostel for socialising and having fun. The pool area is great for relaxing and the bar and kitchen are ideal for backpackers such as myself. The rooms are comfy and spacious, all with an en suite which was perfect! Couldn’t of asked for a better hostel experience, I’ll definitely be back :
It was my best experience in a hostel in Australia. Beautiful area and close to everything you need. My stay was also great thanks to the socials areas like the bar and the pool table. Also the rooms and the kitchen were very clean. I really did enjoy my stay.
Me and my partner booked Bounce Hostel to kick start our East Coast Trip. I would say it’s extremely average. The location is really good, central and convenient. It’s a party hostel which isn’t an issue. The issue is the kind of people it attracts. Of course if you’re into partying and don’t mind not being able to sleep then you’d thrive here. But for those of you who value hygiene, privacy and sleep… don’t bother. We actually got really lucky with the people we had to share a dorm with. They were friendly and chilled out so we got along with them. But it would’ve been a nightmare if we had to share a room with people stumbling in at 4am which is very possible so be weary. The staff are rude and not that helpful. Music is on from 8am till midnight. Housekeeping do an okay job, but it could be better. There are washing machines for your laundry but not enough considering the number of people staying there. The one thing I think is stupid is there aren’t curtains on the beds. Please sort this out. It’s not expensive and a lot more people would be willing to sleep there if you provided simple curtains for some privacy. Also the key cards to get into your rooms are on an app you have to download. This can make it difficult to access your room if you don’t have a phone, or you’re out of battery. For example my phone was in the repair shop for a few nights during my stay, so I couldn’t get in and out of my room unless I was with someone else. Bit silly really. They do offer free breakfast from 5-10am which is good especially for those travelling on a budget. And there’s a really yummy cafe a few doors down too. Drinks in the hostel are relatively affordable, considering you’re in Australia. We’d come from Melbourne so everything seemed cheaper to us in Cairns. There’s a swimming pool, but I didn’t see a single person use it in my 6 days there, so maybe don’t trust it.
Bounce us full of amazing people, good vibes and it feels like home after a few days. It has the perfect size so you get to know people very fast. I stayed here short term and long term and always had an amazing time!! :
