10/10 recommend! We stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it. The staff were super welcoming, the location is perfect, and the facilities are spot on. It’s nice and quiet, with a great pool and an awesome spa/sauna to relax in after a long day. The walk into the centre of New Plymouth is really lovely, and it’s the ideal distance for heading up the mountain for hikes. Couldn’t fault it at all
We stayed here for one night in November 2025 and absolutely loved it! We slept in our car, but the pitches were spacious and separated by hedges, giving us plenty of privacy. The staff were super friendly — they gave us great tips on what to do in the area and even prepared the sauna for us. The facilities were excellent: two clean shower areas, a heated pool, and a large common room with lots of power outlets for charging our devices. Everything, including the showers and common spaces, was spotless. The free Wi-Fi worked perfectly across the whole campsite. And the highlight — a private sauna for two, which felt amazing after our hike to Holly Hut in Mount Taranaki. Highly recommended!
Just here for the night and very close to Fitzroy Beach. It's in the middle of a subdivision with houses all around. It is very well kept with hedging btwn each campsite. Very quiet when we were there.nnHad a couple kitchens and the bigger one even had a nice oven in it. Very clean and tidy. .ake àurr to bring your own pots and utensils. They do have rooms if you need one.nnThere is a indoor eating area off of the kitchen with table and chairs a couch and tv. A bit outdated and a musty smell to it.nnThe bathroom and showers were clean, 4 of each and a decent size with a blow dryer and awesome water pressure. Wasn't a big fan of the bathrooms as had no main door on it and was cold getting out of the shower and anyone walking by could look in.nnThey had 2 unisex showers and a few bathroom on the other side with a door but was in use when I went to use them.nnWas a very quiet campground and they did have a spa and sauna you could book. The pool was closed as it's getting painted. Huge kids area and 2 flat BBQ grills for your use. They had 2 laundry rooms.nnCan also see a nice view of My Taranaki from here as well.
Our cabin was nice and clean with good quality linen, and it was great that an extra bed/chair was set up on arrival for our fifth person — that was really appreciated.nnA few things let the stay down though: there was no bin in the bathroom, and the shower was one of those overhead types with no handheld option, which made washing the kids tricky. No shampoo or conditioner provided either parents of kids with long hair will understand!. The pool wasn’t as clean as expected — the photo online is a bit deceiving — and the trampoline was in poor condition. Also, no hot chocolate sachets in the room, which was a small but noticeable miss.nnOverall, clean and comfortable but could use a few improvements.
Great. Sites are small for caravans, however we were lucky enough to be allowed to spread out over two sites. Nice hot shower with no timer, great pressure and plenty of space for your gear and getting changed. Be good for kids with the pool, park etc.
