We stayed on the top floor in the Prestigious suite. The suite was abit grubby in places. The shower was smelly. 1 x curtain hanging of its curtain hooks. We were told it was a king bed. No way was the bed a king bed and the mattress was very soft, far too soft. The mattress was old.nThe cooked breakfast was very good.
We will be back for the pool, but I didn't understand why the carpets were so filthy. I wanted to vacuum them. Do the cleaning staff forget there is a staircase? It wasn't vacuumed at all for the 3 days, 2 nights we were there. The elevator carpet was dirty along with outside the lifts. Maybe they need better quality vacuum cleaners, but the same stuff was there the whole time in the staircase carpets. I had to ask for a second vacuum of our room, as I was quite grossed out with the state of their carpets. It made me question the cleanliness of everywhere.nThe gym was disgusting. Really worn, old carpet, bits coming up. Gym equipment the bike seat wasnt secured, luckily I didn't hurt myself and asked a worker there to fix it. Maybe buy some new gym equipment and carpet? Floor dirty. Someone kept smoking, so if they smoked outside the gated pool, the smoke could flow all throughout the interior of the building, right down the hallway of the first floor.nThe room wasn't that clean, with some hair on the floor in places, but in general was tolerable. The linen was nice and fresh and clean.nThe pool was clean, but again, the tiles around the pool. There were gross plasters left on the tiles and generally hadn't been washed for a while, with dirt built up, so a bit gross for walking on. The wood deck and gotten a bit slippery, but kids shouldn't also be running around the spa.
As a rep I’ve stayed in a few hotels but when travelling to the Naki I always stay in the Plymouth. It’s a little dated but the service is always wonderful, rooms are tidy, The Orangery serves great food a bit old fashioned but delicious and the pool/spa are great.nMust be able bodied to use bath/shower in some suites due to depth of spa bath and no step
The room we had was very clean and tidy, decor was a bit dated, but not a big deal. Did feel a little unsafe getting out of the shower as there was quite a step down to get out of it.nBed was very comfortable.nThe breakfast was good and the host Bridget? was so lovely and welcoming each time we went in.nThe salt water spa and heated pool were just amazing and we really enjoyed these. There was a nice outdoor seating area between the pool and the bar which was pleasant to use.nReceptionist Michelle was lovely and always seemed cheerful and happy to see everyone, which made a great first impression for us.nLocation was great and was easy walking distance to town.nWill happily stay here again.
Location is good. Loved the swimming pool. When we made the booking through booking, it says dogs allowed. We were charged 50nzd extra dog fee when we returned the keys to the reception before leaving. It’s not a big fee but I didn’t like the way the reception lady handled this.
