Pros: Nice view from the Balcony. Free parking. Good location. Spacious. Nice breakfast.nnCons: Shower head is fixed. Bathtub not so clean. Tap water keep leaking. Request for shampoo top up but never come. Daily same breakfast. Room service food is not all day. Kettle inner is rusty.
My husband and I arrived at the hotel a little after 9pm with our 6-month-old baby. The ground-level parking was full, so he went to reception to get access to the underground parking. The receptionist was helpful and gave him a card right away when he mentioned we had a baby.nnUnfortunately, things went downhill quickly after that.nnThere was no lift from the underground parking to the reception level. So we had to carry three pieces of luggage and a 6-month-old up two flights of stairs—not what two sleep deprived parents need after being out the whole day.nnTo make things more confusing, the receptionist gave us the same room number as our friends, who had already checked in. Thankfully, we caught the mistake while chatting in the lobby. When we went back to correct it, she gave us a new room—but then forgot to activate the key card. So back to reception we went again.nnOnce we finally got into our room, the design was dated which we don’t mind, but the condition of the room was disappointing. Furniture was worn down, the carpet had multiple suspicious stains in different colors, and the overall feel was a bit unsettling.nnWe had requested a baby cot, and when my husband unfolded it, he found two small cockroaches—one dead, one crawling around. As we unpacked, we spotted another cockroach in the corner of the room.nnAll in all, a very frustrating and uncomfortable experience, especially with a baby. I wish I could say there was at least one redeeming feature, but we genuinely couldn’t wait to check out
We only stayed here because it was close to the airport and we landed at 1.30am from an international flight, I made sure to note this on our booking that we would be arriving around 2.30am and did request a late checkout.nPrior to leaving for Bali, I called the hotel, just to ensure they knew we’d be arriving late and also to request a late checkout. The guy on the phone who I don’t remember the name of said that he will note it down and if one is available on the day we will be able to get a late checkout.nnUpon arriving to the hotel there was no one on reception, now I understand this because it’s 2am and I can’t imagine there’s much to do. I stood there for a few minutes and then went back outside to ring the night clerk bell and no one came out. A cleaner was in the lobby, saw me do all of this and didn’t think to ask if I needed help from the night clerk or assistance. I had to ask her if someone is working!!nThe night clerk then came out from the back, dazed, confused and very unfriendly, I’m assuming I’d disturbed his sleep. We checked in and I then asked if our late checkout had been approved to which he now informs me that it’s an additional $50 per hour after 10am. Why did the guy I spoke to originally to request a late checkout not inform me of this?nI’ve worked in hotels previously and I understand this is your policy, that’s fine but your staff should be informing people of your hotel policies when they call you!nnThe hotel is extremely run down and I won’t be staying here again!
Staff are pleasant, location is great.nRoom size is good, clean, building is old so don’t be surprised if you see a cockroach in the bathroomnFree onsite parking, covered & uncovered.nGym accessible 24-7, it has the basics - all that you need.nToilets on every level - handy & close to the lift.nHowever it is disappointing to have to chase the return of your security bond, it’s your personal responsibility to follow up directly, the process it took my nearly a month & my bank was not the hold up. We stayed at the Crown 2 weeks after for 2 nights & received our security bond back before our stay here at Metro South Perth.nSuggestion, call & get the contact details to verify the process.
Not too bad i guess.nnIf you like hearing other people banging around in their rooms.nBasic rooms.n$190 a night.. Id probably go $160 to be honest.nIt would pass as a back parkers stay.nSeriously strong detol smell in hallways & lift.nnIt is pretty funky though. 8 mins from city.nnI said 4 stars because of price & smellnnThanks
