The way this historic building is surrounded by a modern shopping mall is quite something—a rare architectural phenomenon on a global scale. It’s the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression. If you’re into photography or architecture, it’s a must-visit. But if you’re with kids… well, good luck! It’ll likely turn into a whirlwind of noise and ‘Can I have this?’ moments. After 30 years, I recently returned to Melbourne Central, and while the iconic clock still mesmerizes, I couldn't help but feel that the place has lost its former charm. Once a vibrant hub young ones, teens, and families could explore and enjoy themselves, it now more like a collection of brands and shops, lacking the lively atmosphere it once had.nnThe shopping experience become quite generic, an overwhelming focus on makeup and retail brands, transforming it into a plain shopping mall rather than the dynamic destination I remembered. It feels as though the soul of Melbourne Central has been somewhat drained, and I genuinely miss the old times when it was a place with excitement and discovery.nnWhile I appreciate the nostalgia of my visit, I hope to see Melbourne Central some of its former vibrancy in the future.
The shopping mall is truly splendid with its abundance of stores, including some of the most renowned brands. We had a delightful time shopping with our dear wife and friend, and we thoroughly enjoyed our entire day in this magnificent mall. Furthermore, there are numerous food and beverage establishments to choose from.
