This place is amazing, I wish there are more malls like this in other cities in Australia. It has character, heritage, as well as innovative shops, it has a cinema and good restaurants on the top floor. I like the high-speed free wifi here as well. If I have more time I would definitely spend more time here. Plenty of young people come here as well, which is a good sign.

General Post Office (GPO) is an architecturally brilliant renaissance revival building of the former postal hall. It is absolutely amazing with a beautiful arcade along Elizabeth Street (perfect for taking amazing photos). HM is the main tenant of the building and if you want budget disposable fashion and homewares it is definitely worth visiting. There are some nice food stores also which are nice though can get fairly busy. If you like architecture and history it is definitely a building worth seeing, I live in Melbourne and work in the CBD so pass by often and my breath is still taken away by how beautiful the building is.

After an amazing makeover, Melbourne's GPO, an iconic heritage listed building, is now a truly unique retail fashion, cosmetics and homeware shopping complex, with nice and trendy, mixed eateries in the adjoining laneway. On the corner of Bourke and Elizabeth Streets, it's at the heart of Melbourne's Bourke Street Mall. Truly a great place to visit if shopping or just wanting a quick bite or coffee in a trendy Melbourne area. Either before or after your visit, you must sit on the steps and listen to some of the best buskers in Melbourne perform. If you're new to Melbourne then Melbourne's GPO is a must visit. The buzz there is amazing!

Until it's relatively recent transformation into a huge H&M clothing store, Melbourne's GPO was an interesting building to walk around with it's unique architecture and quirky features. Now it's just a gigantic fast fashion jumble sale. Outside it's still one of the most iconic buildings in Melbourne's CBD. Inside, it's now largely masked by rails of dubiously mixed quality, sweatshop produced clothing. I'm slightly at a loss as to how H&M still manages to be so popular? If your after reasonably priced fast fashion, I personally feel Zara do a much better job in that area of retail.

Centrally located and very artistic. Great place to see many people. Locals use it for their protests and public political speech
