A nice small museum with a great display of Tasmania's maritime history, ranging from boat models, to photo's, relics and displays. The souvenirs at the end are interesting and nautical themed and the staff are very friendly. With only $10 per ticket, it's a great way to experience Tasmania's maritime history.

A small but very well presented Museum right in the heart of Hobart just off Constitution Dock. Run by volunteers. Well choosen exhibits and thoughtfully researched. The upper level hosts major exhibitions, while I was there last the space was taken by an exhibition of photographs of the Hobart classic taken over the last 50 years by the noted photographer Richard Bennett and his daughter.

While this museum is rather small, it’s fantastic. Very informative and gives a great lesson on Tasmania’s maritime history. It’s well laid out with the displays in a chronological order so it’s easy to follow along. Children from about 10 and up would enjoy this museum, and most adults would too. I’m not particularly interested in maritime and boat related things but I enjoyed myself regardless.
