I had not been since the move to the new building and remember the old one as being more nostalgic and homely. That being said the new dwelling is super clean and easy to move around. The staff are super friendly and full of useful information about displays and the local area and attractions. If your into anything automotive this is a definite must see.
This place is really cool. The cars in the museum are a great mixture of current, classic, vintage and history making. Definitely worth taking your time to view and look inside some of the vintage cars. The old fire engine was really awesome.
We had visited the old museum a few years ago. It has moved to a new premises. Very modern and spacey. Has a good gift shop. Many cars and bikes on display. Has different displays every so oftenVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
- Reasonably priced entrance fee AUD16 for adults. - Really cool and vintage cars that even non-car enthusiasts will enjoy Suggestions: Can do better lighting and setup to showcase the cars. Try a darker setting with a bunch of spotlights.
A car museum worth visiting when visiting Tasmania. We popped into Launceston during our holiday in Tassie and were greeted by the really friendly staff who were fantastic to chat too. The presentation of the museum was very professional and informative with many of the cars and motorcycles having an interesting story behind them. There is much on offer in the front showroom as well with plenty of souvenirs on sale. Thanks for having us
Amazing collection of classic cars. Price for us was $64 as our children were 16 and 18 we were not able to use the pricing of family and had to be charged individually at $16 which I thought was a bit rough. Wouldn't be in a hurry to go back at that price when we only spent 30 minutes there.
Great Collection of Cars and motorbikes. Continually changing, today was a Honda Collection on view- a large range of m'bikes and Honda cars & coupes. A good little history video is worthwhile watching on the Longford Race track, very informative. Along with the Monaro caught on top of the Tasman Bridge disaster from the '70's. The Launceston Fire Brigade Dennis truck loooked fantastic.
they have some rare collections for sure. its always nice to stand next to some "near new" vintage cars such as 1972 nissan skyline. the real v8 supercar on the hoist is also the champion. first time to have a look the underneath of it and found the rear suspension is beam axle. super informative and nice staffs. definately will recommend and automotive enthusiast to visit.
The staff are friendly and the tickets are reasonably priced. It was a nostalgic look for me to view many different vehicles and my support worker and I enjoyed our time there. They have a wonderful gift shop with a wonderful variety of items to purchase. There was plenty of room to manoeuvre my wheelchair and ample width doors too. I'd recommend this business for anyone who has an interest in vehicle history. Thank you so much for the help and information
