​ An absolute must-visit in Hobart. Best thing is that its free.n​Fascinating mix of natural history, Indigenous culture, and fine art all under one roof. The Tasmanian Tiger exhibit is beautiful but heartbreaking, and the Antarctic exploration artifacts are incredibly cool. It's fully accessible, free admission, and situated right by the waterfront so you can grab lunch at the fish punts immediately after. Don't skip this place!
Wow TMAG is a brilliant museum and art gallery. Thoughtfully set out and interior design of each section so different. Just gorgeous. Oh and the staff ?! Bloody amazing and knowledgeable and generous with their time and explanations. Spent 4 hours and could have spent another 4 hours easily. Fantastic colonial history exhibition packed with taxidermied Australian wildlife. Indigenous art gallery truly informative and sad and the Antartic exhibition out of this world.nnHighly recommended
An amazing museum located right in the town center. The exhibits are expertly curated, offering an impressive variety. Admission is currently free to encourage visits. Definitely worth seeing.
Was very impressed! Not usually a huge museum fan but this one was great! A great variety of interesting and engaging exhibits. Overall very well presented Free entry, great cafe & coffee. Would definitely visit again on our next trip!
The museum has a wide range of displays and information covering local history, culture and natural science. Everything is well presented and easy to take in as you move through. There is also a separate art gallery, which is a nice addition and worth a look. A good stop if you’re exploring the city and want something informative without taking too long. The museum is in a convenient location close to the Hobart CBD.
