We had an amazing time at this museum. Lots for the kids to see and do. The museum staff were very engaged and welcoming. One staff in particular, Luke, was awesome at teaching the kids about sea life, gemstones and coins. We spent about 2 hours there but could have easily spent 4-5 hours. We spent a lovely few hours exploring the museum and art gallery.nnThe indigenous exhibition was a definite highlight, both heartbreaking and impressive showing the resilience of the palawa/pakana peoples in surviving, and keeping alive and celebrating their culture.nnWe also really enjoyed the natural history exhibits and the beautiful art works on show.nnWell worth a visit!

It is quite spacious, and the selection is diverse, making it a great place to browse for about 30 minutes to an hour. The collection includes animals, paintings, ceramic tableware, designer wooden furniture, and artist exhibitions.nnThere is also a small space with interesting books.

It's a beautiful museum with free entry. It shows the history of Tasmania and how invaders invaded the land. Projector tells the story which can be seen clearly on screen. Museum is based on 3 levels. Each level has  a different theme.

Brilliant gallery and museum, with fascinating Tasmanian natural, indigenous and settler artefacts. Thoughtfully curated gallery with interesting, challenging and stimulating modern and older artists
