The location of this hotel is fantastic. Situated right on the waterfront, it's an easy walk into town with a great variety of dining options all within comfortable reach — perfect for exploring at your own pace. The room was spacious, and spotlessly clean and well presented. It's clear that housekeeping takes real pride in maintaining a high standard. Every single staff member I encountered was genuinely helpful and friendly, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived.nI wouldn't hesitate to return and would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great location, comfortable rooms, and warm hospitality.
Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing and not what I would expect from a 4.5-star hotel.nnWe ordered room service for our family and, after waiting more than 45 minutes, discovered the order had been lost. We tried calling multiple times, but the phone simply rang out. As there is no phone in the room, we had to use our mobile and eventually go downstairs twice—once to order and again to follow up. In the end, I collected part of the food myself, which defeats the purpose of room service.nnWhen the food finally arrived, the steak and fish were significantly overcooked. I also noticed the prices charged did not match those listed on the in-room menu. I queried this and was offered a refund for the difference, which I am still waiting to receive.nnWhat was most concerning was that the staff member working in the restaurant, Daria, was friendly and doing her best, but she appeared visibly overwhelmed. The night receptionist was also serving meals and clearing tables, leaving the front desk unattended for extended periods. It was clear the hotel was understaffed and that staff were being stretched across too many roles.nnI was also surprised to find that basic toiletries such as a toothbrush were not provided in the room and instead had to be purchased separately from reception. In my experience, these are usually provided as a complimentary guest amenity.nnA $200 security deposit was taken as an actual charge rather than a pre-authorisation hold, which was not clearly explained at check-in. I have since been advised it may take up to five business days to be refunded.nnThe pool area could also benefit from maintenance, with the surface feeling quite rough. My child sustained a graze simply moving around the edge of the pool.nnWhen I raised my concerns with reception, I did not feel the feedback was particularly well received.nnOn a positive note, the breakfast chef was friendly and the breakfast itself was delicious. However, given the room rate and the hotel’s 4.5-star rating, I would expect that level of quality as standard.nnThe location is beautiful and the hotel has great potential, but the service, staffing levels and overall attention to detail fell well below expectations. There appear to be broader operational issues that management needs to address.
Not the best.nnPros: Location is fantastic. See dolphins in bay near hotel. Room size is large. Free water bottles. Great cafe nearby.nnCons: Rubbish Bin not emptied from previous guests. Porta cot was really worn and tired out felt like straight cardboard. We ended up putting her in bed with us and cosleeping. Rooms are very tired and need a deep clean or renovation. Only 1 person amount of toiletries provided seemed stingy to me. The hotel bay access to beach can only be accessed from inside and no swipe to get back in from bay so need to walk around. Some rooms near the lifts would be quite noisey so choose one away from them if possible. Room service trays left outside rooms for a long time overnight until checkout time. Perhaps someone could go and check these the night before.
This is an absolute amazing hotel made even better by the amazing staff that really make you feel at home, the only thing letting it down is the clear lack of respect the CEO has for there own staff the fact that it's clear to all guests that the CEO is clearly penny pinching and as a result understaffing the place is really sad considering the staff do there absolute best and go over and above for the guests I definitely recommend staying here as it's lovely but I also recommend leaving an honest review so maybe the CEO will take the hint and treat there staff with the respect they deserve as they are hard workers that made the stay a 10/10 without them though I would not consider staying again.
