Hoyts Northland in Preston was great and always has been. Went there many times over many years and not one single mistake was made there in my personal experience. It consists of one D-Box, two X-Treme cinema rooms and seven normal cinema rooms. The staff are really friendly and the food and drink are really yummy, I normally get the medium size popcorn and Pepsi Max drink out from the soda machine. The cinema rooms are spacious, have really big screens and have very comfortable recliner seats. Would highly recommend going there if you wanted to watch a movie.
Recently I went to Hoyts Northland and the seats were absolutely filthy, and it was obvious that no staff had bothered to clean the cinema before the session started. Popcorns were everywhere on the floor, and the seats were oily and sticky.
Comfortable with good ambiance . Always my favourite place for watching movies .
Experienced D-Box the first time, it was super duper good with Mission Impossible!!! D-box has a slightly larger screen than the standard but not as big as the Xtremescreen, and has recliners that have sensors to replicate the feels on the screen. Like I could feel the car crashing, kicks and punches, boat movements on water, skydiving jumps, everything! It's awesome. The D-Box cinema is Screen 6 and has around 50 seats so gets filled very quickly and the ticket was $30 adult. Overall, the Hoyts Northland place was clean and tidy, customer service was very good as they helped me organise a free regular combo with my Hoyts points, and things were well organised.
Currently escalators are under reconstruction so access is via the lift opposite.nMonday night is quite empty. No ticket discounts. Mint choc ice cream $7. Odd lack of signage which cinema you are standing in front of, see my photos below. Cinema is 7.1, Dolby system. Sound is clear and somewhat better than the KRIX system at Village. Not so powerful from the front and better side directionality. The volume is plenty. Seats are DBox recliners hall 8. Overall at $78.45 for three seats it’s expensive.
