This library offers a lovely space and an extensive collection, but like many libraries today, it lacks sufficient places to plug in your own devices for online meetings or interactive classes. While the upstairs room provides an excellent quiet space, there are no desks downstairs with accessible plugs due to safety concerns over patrons tripping and falling.nnA simple interior redesign could easily address this issue. The same problem exists at St Heliers Library, even after its recent refurbishment.nnNew Zealand's libraries are among the best, but recent changes have significantly impacted their functionality. During my visit, staff advised me to come with a fully charged device in the future, hinting that the next refurbishment might eliminate accessible plugs entirely. This advice was not particularly helpful so I just thanked her and left.
I love this library. Quiet place, staff helpful and friendly, well organized
Good area in a mezzanine upstairs to study and connect your computer via wifi to the internet. However speeds are erratic currently reading between 2 and 3Mbps on speed tests. Bring your noise cancelling earset, as you might find that the noise from people downstairs, especially young kids shouting, might be disruptive.If you find it too noisy, you might find Botany library is more suitable.
Love this Library. Clean bright and friendly staff. Lots of activities to choose from and great collection of books
Nice, clean environment with separate space for reading and study upstairs but very poor noise control by staff. Children yelling and adults playing games makes for a noisy environment, so lots of distractions and difficult to focus on work.
