Never again! Sorry to say, but this is a dishonest business. We agreed (and it was put on our rental agreement) to fill up the car before returning it. We did this... and received an invoice which charged $80 for filling up the car. When we inquired about it they said we had not filled it up. Of course we disputed this and gave them a copy of our credit card statement with the BP transaction which they refused to accept because the date didn't match the date we returned the car (uh, DUH, this is what happens with international transaction... are these people even in the travel industry?)
I even told their staff that they are the only car hire company we have ever come across in the whole world to NOT have a person receiving returning cars and checking them for scratches, dings or petrol status.
So either someone had an expensive joy ride in the car after we left it in the lot, or a staff member pocketed $80 and lied. They didn't even have the decency to reply to our last email.
I wouldn't even give this one star. Handled poorly and essentially calling your customers liars even after we provided credit card proof is just an absolute NO in our books. Dishonest.

Horrible experience with Hertz. We rented a 4wd with snowboard rack for our snow trip and it turns into a nightmare for our equipments. First the snowboard rack is not installed correctly it was very loose and we had to tighten it up before we load our gears. Then the third day our snowboards flew off the rack on highway, and the boards are total lost. One of the tyre has slow leak which we need to pump gas in everyday! The explanation from Hertz stuff is that we didn't load our board correctly, which we had a Video taken to show them the rack won't lock properly. All they offered was claim insurance because we add full cover policy to the rental. We just felt lucky that the snowboards didn't hit any other cars and cause other accidents. If google can rate negative stars I will give them negative 5 stars.

I will never try to use hertz again or give them a chance or refer them

I'm tired of the dishonest business in nz. 

Got a quote. Hey that's ok. Made a booking. Double check that booking later. The booking has different dates from what I selected. Ps have screenshots from before and after submitting. So not well priced the most expensive. 

Ok let's try cancel. How about that on the website the continue button in the cancel page doesn't work. It's not even linked. Just text. Now phone call after phone call trying to sort it out. 

Waste my time and my money. 

Stop ripping people off. Summer 10 day rental now winter 2 day rental same price. 

Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth before I have even arrived.

Finnaly get through to a call center. The agent sounded to me to either be drunk or in drugs. When I told them about the problems I was called rude by the agent. This was my weirdest conversation with any call centre
