I've rented a car a couple of times recently just after COVID for weekend get aways and I have to say the customer service has been really good for a rental company.. you're usually greeted with that "used carsalesman" vibe - but these folks at downtown Hertz have been a breath of fresh air. Friendly, kind and they have a great work culture. Keep up the great work team! You have a repeat costmer here :
Fantastic experience. We’ve been upgraded from GTI to Mustang! William also helped me change my driving license information patiently. It was not the first time we use hertz, but the best experience we’ve ever had.
Waited for 1.5 hours for the car we booked 4 months in advance. On finally getting the car after 4 complaints, it was dirty and filthy with takeaway wrappers in the back seat. I took pictures and sent complaint to Hertz, but they couldn't be bothered to even reply to my email. Image you see here is taken in the the car collection bay. We couldn't wait for another car as we were late for the wedding we were attending. Hertz, if you won't respond to my email, this is what will happen.
Location is very central and convenient right in front of tram stop. But it is so busy that the line for gold members is even longer then normal customers. Also there was no clear queuing up system which prevented people from jumping queue. Suggest for hertz to give out queue numbers have a queue number machine to make it easier for customers. Staff that attended to us was really helpful especially with info on toll charges and where to top up petrol nearest to the airport before returning the car. The Nissan xtrail that we chose had a few scratches but interior wise was reasonably clean. You can connect to your iPhone via your own USB cable to listen to music on your phone via the car speakers. The child seat was also reasonably clean.
Good friendly staff. Good experience renting a car. Go for the super cover to get peace of mind.
Absolutely disgusted with Hertz. I rented a car on the weekend and the customer service agent appeared to be new at the Job, as a result the money that Hertz put on hold was charged twice. I was promised after 3 business days this would disappear. Well, 4 business days later I have $1462 on hold with Hertz and they have taken out the Hire fee of $530 as well. Almost $2000 I don't have access to today and still don't, all for a 2 day car hire.. I have tried calling the store direct and the guy that answered couldn't of cared any less. I have called the call center and customer relations. No-one cares at all and have been given a list of things that I need to do, to get the hold removed from the $1462 which should have been Just $731. Ive been told I need to contact my bank, supply an authorization number, send emails and basically have to do all the work for their stuff up. Sorry, I am home schooling 2 small children and have a full time job. I don't have time to do all that for your mistakes. Release my money! You stuffed up, You fix it! Will never use them again for anything.
Very impressed with this branch. Very professional, pick up and drop off were seamless, very helpful and friendly. Car was perfect, clean and exactly as described. Will 100% hire from here again. Finally a car rental service getting it right!! Well done team
This was one of the easiest and smoothest rental car experiences I have ever had. I waited all of 10 seconds in line when picking up the car. Then I was told that I was getting a free upgrade for a reason which I forget. The woman was very helpful and even provided me with a map of the Great Ocean Road and some tips for driving back. When I returned the car the next day I was just under an hour late but the guy who closed out my rental told me he would waive the charge for a whole extra day since I was only an hour late which was very nice of him. I wouldn't bank on that happening every time. All in all, everyone I dealt with was courteous and helpful and if I have to rent a car again in Melbourne, this will be the first place I look.
I reserved a car here using corporate staff discount. Upon arrival, the lady rudely asked for my license and then said - " you're corporate staff? Anyone can use the corporate code - i need proof of employment". I said, fair enough and dug out a letter of employment from emails but that wasn't enough. Then she asked that to be emailed to her PERSONAL ACCOUNT along with a copy of my medicare card and payslips. I said I'm not comfortable emailing those details as they contain my salary, TFN numbers, especially given she already has my credit card and license. She said they can't rent me the car unless I do. Then she says - oh we also need a $1000 bond because you've never rented there before. When I said I've rented cars with them at least 3 times before using staff discount, she changed her reasons again and asked me to email the documents to her personal email or go home! If a staff asks copies of employment letters, medicare card and bank payslip while they already have my credit card and driver's licence - all of it with a rude and condescending tone, it yells identity theft! After 20 minutes of not being able to convince her, I had to leave without the car. Ruined all my plans for the day. Extremely disappointed!
The staff here were really fantastic and friendly. They even upgraded our car. Furthermore, the staff member who drove the car up for us to collect I'm so sorry I didn't get your name was able to converse with my Japanese fiance in Japanese which made him really happy. Thank-you so much for your exemplary service.
