I joined HIF in January 2016. The price of my cover (GoldStarter Hospital & Special Options) has since increased by over 24%. HIF claims to have the lowest increases in premiums in the industry but with 24% increase in premiums I can not believe this is true! Claim processing has been fast and allowance for dental is great. However, customer service has been terrible, with several billing issues (overcharging me etc.) that were difficult to resolve and required hours on the phone trying to sort things out with customer service. Many in customer service staff that I have spoken to seem new at their job and unexperienced, which did not help the process. I can not recommend HIF, sorry!

The pits - avoid at all costs. Basic insurance cover provides cover for NOTHING practical that would actually occur to a young person. The one time I tried to claim for a basic injury was pushed back. 5 years of fees pissed down the drain. 0/10.

One again used HIF for very recent hip replacement at Warringal Private Hospital, first class treatment from both, no out of pocket expenses and then 6 days at Rehab hospital in Mornington and all covered by HIF. This really is first class and certainly worth the cost. John Barker

Sold me the wrong cover and now I am having issues with my visa because they did not advise me properly. BE CAREFUL don't trust their suggestions.  Very unhappy!
