Not a bad place, convenient if you stay in CBD and your friend lives in Brighton - you can meet in the middle. I enjoyed the mushroom bread and the Avo bread looked nice as well but not really different - comparing to all these amazing places around MelbournenWent back for lunch and loved the risotto and flatbread

Gilson is a trendy, buzzing spot with great vibes. Perfect for a date night or girls lunch. The antipasto and pizza are absolutely delicious, however the pasta dishes are quite flavorless and not worthwhile.nnRecommendations: white anchovies, tomatoes and pickled fennel, as well as the capricosa and vodka sauce pizzas.

Went to Gilson for the first time for a private function. Their upstairs space is amazing – lots of natural light with a private bathroom 1 and balcony. However, it was a hot day and their ancient aircon wasn’t working hard enough  there wasn’t enough airflow and guests were fanning themselves all day… not ideal for a popular Domain St venue.nnWe had a set menu and entrees were fantastic. I loved the hot flatbread and burrata. The lamb ragu dish didn’t have enough pasta given they were share plates for a big group. The linguine was dry and lacklustre, had to add chilli oil to add flavour. The pepperoni honey pizza was probably my favourite.nnI’d definitely go back to try the other dishes because the a la carte dining experience downstairs looks lovely, but not in a rush to go back. At least service was fast and attentive so shout out to the function staff for walking up and down the stairs all day!

Came for lunch on a Wednesday, the bread and the Barata is delicious but the tomatoes were a bit bland, the pasta was nice, it was very noisy inside. Service was great, our spicy margaritas weren’t very enjoyable so they willingly swap them for a classic margarita. We had the kingfish Crudo, the flavour was really nice but the cut of fish was quite thick. We came with Baby and pram, I booked for three and they were very accommodating. Would love to try the muscles with my husband. Parking is really hard in that area. So allow time if you’re driving.

Unfortunately. This Monday. We ate the chocolate cake. It was microwaved. I own a microwave. They don’t cook the best cakes. Please update your microwave for a better cake service.
