First time at this cafe… very busy and looked to be understaffed.nSat outside to enjoy the winter Melbourne sun opposite the botanical gardens. Great views and nice atmosphere.nOrdered pancakes and coffee.nOnly criticism would be bring out hot drinks with food together, snd have sugar and napkins on the table.nYou’ll need to pay inside when you’re finished as there’s no table service.nLots of dogs in this cafe so if you’re not into dogs try elsewhere….
Very strategically located, not too crowded, and has an elegant atmosphere. The food and drinks are quite varied, offering plenty of great options. It’s located right in front of a park, so you get fresh air and a really nice vibe from the people and community around. One of the best brunch spots in Melbourne, I reckon!”
We went here on a busy Sunday night. The service was decent we had a lovely waitress who was run off her feet yet quite attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. So fresh and full of flavour. We had the calamari fritti with aioli which was so tasty, a yummy green salad, pickled octopus which was to die for, the freshest fish of the day, beautiful crumbed chicken, the zucchini chips with an amazing yoghurt sauce and to top it off We had a delicious tiramisu. I will definitely be coming back.
Food, atmosphere, and service all amazing. A great place for family and friends to get together. Even a work dinner would be suited there.nI loved everything I had. From the wood fire Margherita pizza, to the prawn spaghetti oh my so delicious. Their moctails are great too if you don't want to drink just grab one. Thrre's also plenty parking across the road 2P until 6:30 pm I think so dinner is no rush.
Popped into a local favourite - Warmly greeted by Cecilia who looked after us and promptly served drinks with a strong recommendation of the heathcote shiraz - watch out for this rising star we haven’t been treated with such first class service in a very long time. The pizza and salad felt like being transported back to Italy! Best salad in Australia - Amazing work Cecilia and team at Gilson thank you and can’t wait to see you again! Ten Stars!
