Well dressed women gliding past in heels, athletes leaning casually against expensive cars parked along the curb, the occasional Ferrari purring like a satisfied cat. If Melbourne has a place to see and be seen, this is firmly on the list.nnInside, it’s Modern Australian dining with swagger. A glowing dry ageing cabinet of serious beef greets you like a temple to carnivores, while an award winning wine list stretches long enough to make any sommelier grin. Out back, a relaxed courtyard bar with a television humming away keeps the afternoon footy crowd happy because in Melbourne, someone is always checking the score.nnWe sat outside under umbrellas on one of those classic Melbourne days .....clear sky, warm sun, just enough breeze to remind you you’re alive.nnThe grilled calamari with smoked tomato vinaigrette, nduja and green olives was a cracking opener. Salty, smoky, with enough punch to demand that every last drop be chased down with bread.nnThe spaghettini with blue swimmer crab, garlic and chilli pangrattato was simple and honest letting the crab speak for itself.nnMarket fresh sashimi with witlof and salt and vinegar sourdough crisps brought freshness, though the witlof leaned a touch bitter.nnService? Sharp, attentive, effortless. The kind of hospitality that makes the whole experience feel smooth.nnClearly a local favourite. And frankly, it’s easy to see why.nnGood food. Great wine. Fantastic vibe.nnI’ll be back.
I recently had the pleasure of hosting my bridal shower at The Botanical Hotel, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. From the start, the communication was excellent. Kirsty was incredibly efficient, ensuring everything was organized to perfection and even helping me choose the wines for the day, which was such a thoughtful touch.nnOn the day, the service was impeccable. The two gentlemen who helped serve drinks were fantastic—they were so attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly. They even confirmed the timing of the food service, which helped us stay on track and ensured the day went off without a hitch.nnThe venue itself was beautiful, and the atmosphere was perfect for our event. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate with friends and family. I highly recommend The Botanical Hotel for anyone looking to host a special event. Thank you again for making my bridal shower such a memorable day!
I was sitting outside the store with a friend on the evening of the 5th, around 9 to almost 10 pm, having some drinks. At one point my friend took off her phone’s camera lens protector and left it on the table. After paying the bill, we went across the street for a cigarette. When we came back to the side of the shop, the girl who had served us stopped us and took out the lens protector, thinking we had lost it.nnWe’re very grateful for her kindness. Her service and warmth deserve the best job and salary in the world.
Talk about a good steak! Botanical Hotel is a great place for a good quality feed. I had an Eye fillet that was cooked to perfection, nice golden crust with a delicate Medium Rare inner. Service was sensational, water was always topped up and before our drinks were empty the service was near to ask us for another. I will definitely be returning to try their exceptional Menu!
I just had my baby shower/35th birthday in the Archer Room at The Botanical. Chiara was our event organiser and she was absolutely amazing! Great communication and really thorough. The staff on the day were attentive, friendly and helpful. I really loved my day and I want to say a big thank you to all of the staff involved.
