this is my gym.  it is across the street from work, it has a good variety of classes with excellent instructors who are really keen and motivated.  they say hi and goodbye whenever you come in and out and the place has just had an uplift in the equipment and a face lift.  there are never too many people in there so that you can't get on the equipment.  it has a smaller feel to it which i really enjoy as well.

It is not a platinum gym like the QV or Melbourne central. The facilities are a bit older. However, some of the classes are very solid. Plus it's very easy to get access the place with the tram stop at its door steps. 
I would still prefer QV or Melbourne Central due to nicer equipment and facilities, but I don’t mind the Bourke street gym either. It is not crowded at all.

I was studying in Melbourne from overseas and signed up for a two year membership.  I knew that I was going to be leaving the country in about 6 months so I asked about cancellations etc.  They said it would be no problem, and that there would be a small fee.  Well I went in today and the fee turned out to be 150$!  I tried to state my case and they wouldn't listen.  Fitness First turned out to be one of my major expenses and I was left with an extremely bad taste in my mouth. I cannot advise against them more - Avoid these guys, they are nothing but soulless scam artists

Not a bad gym. Needs to be cleaned up, but staff are friendly there are worse ones around

Not sure what others are talking about...I find the staff quite friendly and they always say hello/goodbye when I arrive/leave. The female change room is very clean. It's spacious and stinks as much as other gyms. Only gripe is the weights are not always placed in their correct spots, but this has been improving.
