Easily the best wildlife sanctuary in Australia that we have been to. This place is amazing, so much range of animals especially birds! Truly beautiful, you can tell how well the animals are looked after. I think my partner and I have come here at least 6 times the last few years and we will continue to support this treasure
We had fun going here. It's not a huge wildlife sanctuary compare to others, which is good for those who don't want to get tired walking. The best part was our close encounter with the kangaroos and koalas! You will be able to feed the kangaroos and touch them as long as you want. Except for the koalas, you need to pay extra fee to touch them... but you will be able to see them up close too.
Very nice place to go for a walk and enjoy the nature with the animals. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed the different varieties of animals at this location. You also have a very nice cafe inside to take a short break. You can also feed animals inside this place. This is a great location for kids to enjoy as well
This is one of my FAVOURITE places in Sydney. I am so lucky to live locally. The animals are well cared for and the opportunities to get involved with some of the animals is amazing. It is not a huge park which works well for me and the kids. The layout is nice and easy to get around and you can be sure that you will not miss anything as you walk around. I brought my 18 month old son for the first time and he was over the moon. The animals are great with smaller children and were very gentle when feeding out of my sons feeding cup. I highly recommend visiting Featherdale if you ever get the chance to do so.
For one, you can collect stamps here! For two, that's a serious lot of birds! Among them many are rarely seen in any other zoo in Sydney. I wish the website could say more about it. Definitely give it a go if you are a bird lover. Apart from birds, there were many koalas, reptiles, our familiar Australian mammals, and farm animals, too. The park is not huge, but the space is efficiently used, so you still need to walk a fair bit to see all the animals. Lastly, the cafe serves great burgers and chips. Overall a fantastic experience!
I loved being able to feed all the little quokkas and things. Gosh I love wallabies they're so cute. So many wonderful Australian fur and feather children. The penguins were too cute. This was a great time. Public transportation out here was a bit of a pain though. Trekking from the train station was not very fun in the summer heat but I would do it again. Worth.
Had a good visit on a Saturday with a three year old. Wasn't too busy considering it was a weekend. The animals were all being fed so most of them were out which was great. Food was very expensive, would recommend bringing your own food if you can.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
It is not a big park but it has many animals, in particular I saw kangaroos, koalas, many birds, crocodiles, among others. I fell in love with a beautiful soft-colored bird and we had a beautiful conversation, he knows how to say Hello and he is very affectionate. You can feed only the kangaroos and the food costs 3 dollars. The park is nice but the cages are small, that's very sad.
One of the best animal experiences in Sydney. I've been to most of their zoos where a majority of the animals look sad or unhappy, sitting in a remote corner where they can't see visitors staring at them. I totally get it. Here, the incentive might be food, but they have a mix of experience from just walking through, feeding the kangaroo which is well worth the experience. Or photos with koala, quokka, etc. Make sure to do some learning about the birds of Australia before you arrive so you and your kids can appreciate more than half the wildlife are birds. The kangaroo are a highlight to a lesser extent the farm animals they also have. They are tame, familiar with people, and basically expect to be fed. Their curiosity brings the big ones right up to you sniffing. This gives an amazing experience for the kids and adults, including photo-ops. If they get annoyed, there are large blocked off areas for animals only. So as long as they're comfortable, they'll be there next to you. The gift shop focuses mostly on the animals they have in the park--including the big wombat one of my favorites. The prices are less inflated than zoos, although their selection is smaller. Still, its also a good place to pick up plushies of native wildlife.
I have been to several zoos, but I am very satisfied with this zoo. The price is reasonable and there are many places to rest. You can also touch koalas and kangaroos. It was a very enjoyable day and I will visit again.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
