Story

Mogo Zoo is an award-winning privately owned zoo situated 10km south of Batemans Bay in the picturesque and historic gold mining village of Mogo. The zoo is nestled in 81 acres of lush rural bushland.

We are an organisation committed to the survival of endangered animals and provide world standard facilities for over 200 animals of more than 47 rare and exotic species including majestic White Lions, Gorillas, Sumatran Tigers, Cheetahs, African Servals, Red Pandas, Snow Leopards, Meerkats, Silvery Gibbons, De Brazza's Monkeys, Giraffe, Zebra and Siamangs, to name a few.
Mogo Zoo also has the largest collection of primates in any zoo in Australia

As an institutional member of the Zoo and Aquariaum Association, we work closely with all major Australasian zoos, cooperating in various species management programs. We are also actively involved in many global breeding programs.

Moreover, we specialise in animal encounters - an incredible experience that will stay with you forever. Our extensive array of animal encounters include White Lion and Tiger feed, Meerkat experience, Red Panda experience, African Serval experience, primate island cruise where you will have the opportunity to hand-feed Ring-Tailed Lemurs and Black-and-White Ruffed Lemurs as you cruise around the zoo's primate islands, and the popular Keeper for a Day experience.

For a spectacular natural world encounter, you can't beat Mogo Zoo!

A zoo that specializes in unique animals. Not a good place to see native Australian animals but a great place to see something unique. There's no opportunity to touch most of the animals (unless you want to pay high feeding rates - which may be worth it for some of the best animals) but they're all very visible anyway . Entry fees are high and the family admissions age ends at 14. The desk staff asked my 17 year old for proof that he was a student (in lieu of adult fees) but said that a passport was not good enough. There is a cafeteria that sells very nice chips with plenty of seating. There are enough toilets for low season crowds but I imagine that they would be overrun at times. Most of the zoo is flat and suitable for walking but it's not suitable for wheelchairs. The variety of animals on offer is good with several different types of apes/monkeys, lemurs, radiant turtles, giraffes, lions, deer etc. There are no reptiles or birds or fish.

Fabulous. Meerkat experience was beyond expectations, feeding Giraffes sublime, so graceful, such a great long purple tongue, looping and locking onto food branches. Primates on their own islands, monkey's in comfortable leafy enclosures. Human food was great, calm and taking your time is the order of the day, Gorillas, Rhinos, low land Zebras, big cats..more. location is perfect. Mogo Zoo is well worth more visits. Thank you also for the Staff here and the lovely Mogo volunteers.

Great Value. Great day out. Well laid out zoo with plenty to see. Lovely primate enclosures. Have lunch while watching the entertaining silvery Gibons. Great cafe and very reasonable price for a feed. Feed the friendly deer for a couple of bucks. Least favourite part was the big cats as they don't seem to have much space. Zoo still deserves 5 stars :)

All the animals were close to the walkway, making it easy to enjoy seeing them up close. Excellent design of spaces to enable rest, picnics, some shade and access to each display. Definitely recommend this zoo for families of all ages. Very reasonable pricing for the experience. Better than most other zoos I've visited.
