Had two wonderful Gold Class experiences recently at Event Cinemas Robina, watching The Devil Wears Prada during the day and Michael in the evening. On both occasions, the service was friendly, attentive and professional, making the experience feel extra special.nThe Gold Class cinema was comfortable and well presented, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. A fantastic way to enjoy a movie, whether it's a date night or just a treat for yourself. We'll definitely be back for another Gold Class experience!
Just finished watching the Odessy. Amazing movie! But on top of that the guy serving me gave me a signed Spiderman poster!! Amazing cinema, will always be my go to on the Gold coast. Thanks guys!!
Unfortunately, a very disappointing Gold Class experience at Robina, made considerably worse by how my subsequent complaint was handled.nnThe cinema was uncomfortably hot when the film began. I actually left after a few minutes to change clothes and raised the temperature with staff. I was told the system generally takes around 15 minutes to kick in. It improved somewhat, but remained warmer than I would expect from a premium Gold Class experience.nnMore concerning was the wine service. I ordered a large New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc for $22 and was served what I recognised as a 150 mL pour. I queried it immediately. I specifically discussed with the staff member that there were two sizes, small and large, and I was expressly told that 150 mL was their large pour.nnI work in a restaurant and measure and pour 150 mL serves every day. I know very well what 150 mL looks like compared with 250 mL. I nevertheless accepted what I was told and later ordered a second large. Again, I am certain I was served 150 mL.nnManagement subsequently confirmed that Event’s large pour is actually 250 mL.nEvent reviewed CCTV and told me I had “absolutely” received the large on both occasions, later explaining that the footage showed the supervisor using what they describe as the 250 mL measuring pourer.nnI asked to view the footage or still images so I could understand the discrepancy myself, but was told Event’s policy does not allow this.nnMy complaint was ultimately handled by three different Event representatives over more than six emails. They confirmed the supervisor had been consulted, but said my recollection differed from the information available to them and that the conversation itself could not be independently verified.nnWhat I find frustrating is that after all that correspondence, nobody could simply tell me in plain terms what Event believes actually happened — whether the staff member got it wrong, whether Event believes I got it wrong, or what exactly the “miscommunication” was.nnEvent gave me two complimentary Gold Class tickets, which I accepted and appreciated. I never asked for compensation, a refund or free drinks; I wanted a satisfactory explanation.nThe tickets were ultimately treated as though they had “resolved the matter.”nCompensation and resolution are not the same thing. They did not explain why I was told that 150 mL was the large pour when Event subsequently confirmed that the large is 250 mL.nnFor an experience marketed and priced as premium cinema hospitality, I expected considerably better — both on the night and in the handling of a legitimate customer concern.
Very disappointed last night we went to see the Odyssey and had to leave about half way through due to the extreme level of the sound. It truely ruined what I had hoped would be an amazing film. I’m sure the sound recordists and designers that worked on this film did not intend for the sound level to feel so offensive and violently loud. Maybe Robina could check its levels given how cinema is a dying format that we are all trying to keep alive.
We ended up going to this cinema when we had tickets for pac fair for the Spider-Man movie. All the staff were so lovely with helping us even though it was our mistake and the lovely manager Alyssa really helped us out even though they were so so busy! Such great staff and a great selection of snacks!
