Story

The Arts Centre is the Gold Coast’s premier cultural facility, bringing visual and performing arts to residents of South East Queensland.

The complex houses the Arts Theatre, Gold Coast City Gallery, two Cinemas and the Arts Cafe as well as several stunning function rooms, a chapel and two small performance spaces.

I’ve lived on the Gold Coast for 20 years. Recently caught the ferry from Southport. Did a walk through. Climbed to the lookout. And ended up at the museum. Meandered through and ended up at the exhibition bar for afternoon tea. A great way to spend a few hours.
The Writers Revealed exhibit is superb. I have a season pass and visited 4 times already. So many great representations of how writing and publishing have changed over the centuries, in addition to the lives and great works of particular authors. I’ll go again before it’s finished. Thank you for being in this to the Gold Coast, HOTA.
There are a few restaurants such as The Exhibitionist Bar 5F, Palette 1F, Monday, Tuesday closed.nThe view of Surfers Paradise buildings seen from The Exhibitionist Bar is quite magnificent.nBesides, if you park for under 1hr 53min, you won’t get charged.nHowever, there are some restrictions if you enter the gallery. For example, backpacks are not allowed if you enter the gallery.
Great exhibitions, free parking for four hours, no crowds on a weekday, clean amenities and lovely views from the rooftop! Highly recommend a stop here!
Extravagant Facility with tidy amenities.nNicely air conditioned on a warm summer’s day.nnThe Exhibitionist Bar and Viewing Platform were Stunning.nnThere weren’t any Art Installations that really Inspired me, apart from the Surfers Paradise Nostalgia Exhibition.nnThe Whole Experience was Completely Ruined by Tommy Taters Parking Parasites !!nnIn a Near Empty Parking Lot on a Weekend Morning. I walked back to my car to find a parking ticket for $108 !!nnThat Is Deplorable !!nnWas Not Even Aware that Parking Fees Applied for the Weekend !!nnNo Wonder the Gallery was as Empty as the Car Park !!nnCouncil Needs a Rethink on Charging for Parking - Especially on Weekends !!nnI Have Absolutely NO Idea, How Those Parking C…. Sleep at Night !!nKnowing That Their Sole Purpose IS To Ruin Someone’s Day !!nnUntil It Is Free Parking on The Weekend, I WON’T Be Returning !!
