My wife and I were here today 13 MAY 2026 to get some books and other things at our favourite bookstore in Melbourne CBD. We are both yearly visitors to Melbourne and we are from Singapore and we always make it a point to browse and shop here, because the variety of books and cards here are always very wide and very interesting. Service here is always very good - friendly and helpful. And the shopping experience here is also always very good with its wide enough aisles for browsing.
A rare find to find a mega bookstore still around these days. I love going down the escalators and feeling like you've enter a new world! Wall to wall of books of every genre, there is also a cafe and a gifting area. I love the personal touch of mini reviews/recommendations under some books read by staff members. Definitely a space you can spend a long time in roaming and reading! What a gem!
The store is not that big. The staff is very nice, they help me to find the book I want, not only from their store but also the available stock in another distributed area.
It was a 3x3 room....pics and a wall of toys...I know it was free but the line/ wait to get in wasn't worth it. It could have been done so much better. Scripts from the movies, films, the actual actors behind the scenes photos of course. Was a real let down and the gift shop was even worse. Big w has more toy story merch than the shop did.
