So called good mechanic, did only an oil change at a major service. Found oil to be 2.6 litres down in 2 weeks. 3 weeks after that, an internal transmission failure due to low fluid level. Asked why everything wasn't done when I went to pick the car up and was simply told "Ran out of time. The plugs are good and will last another 15k kms." Holden dealership told me not 5k kms later the plugs are bad. If you go here, go somewhere else to get your car checked. $3.5k for a new transmission after they didn't check everything. Not happy!

This is a great place... Brian has lots of experience working on cars (he's been a mechanic all his life, and I'd estimate that he's approaching 60 years of age). I've used his services two or three times in the last six months and he has always been friendly, willing to talk through the solution. His two or three mechanics there at the moment seem to each have 10 years or more of experience too. Ask to see his project cars - not only does he work on cars during business hours, but he plays with them in his spare time too - probably a sign of a good mechanic, and normally has one or two of them at the workshop.
