I saw dr nambiar for around 2 years. At the start i was confident in her to help me but it became clear shes very opinionated and doesn't really listen. Wait times can range from "on time" to over an hour late, the longest i timed waiting was around 1.5 hours. Its extremely hard to wait like that when you suffer chronic pain. Gordon who manages the front desk in afternoons is blunt and follows a specific schedule and leaves no room to stray from that, getting frustrated with you if you dont say/do the right thing. Many times while i was waiting he would get agitated at people in person and/or over phone. Dr nambiar is constantly using meds first instead of investigating things. She prescribed me ozempic for weight loss when i told her my issues with binge eating which has only taught me how to ignore when im hungry and now im dealing with even more disordered eating except ive lost 41% of my body weight since taking her advice and now I cant afford a dietitian but i dont meet the criteria for help because im not "too skinny" yet. She also told me someone i care about doesnt really want help because theyre afraid to take medications. She refused to accept anything id say when i was questioning if im ADHD and Autistic despite the fact she was the one who mentioned "Attention Deficit Disorder". When it was brought up again she dismissed every word, even saying she never said ADD and that it doesn't matter, despite me bringing evidence from a clinical psychologist who tested for both. The last time i had an appointment with her i ended up getting too overwhelmed and telling her i had to leave, she came out into the waiting room as i was doing the medicare process as they do after an appt and she came out and infront of everyone said "Dont bother charging her, that was pointless." So ive not gone back despite learning she hasnt been uploading things to my medical record either. I would NOT recommend her to anyone with mental health problems or any beliefs that they might be neurodivergent as she isnt very considerate and dont go if you dont have a voice to stand up for yourself!
The receptionist Gordon was extremely rude; asked him very nicely to send a faxed script. At first he blamed my system for being unable to receive said fax then said he could not send it any other way because their system was too old to send an email and he didn't have a smart phone to send it as a photo, then lied and contradicted himself saying that they would not send it as any other form other than a fax due to "security risks". After asking if I could speak directly to dr Nambiar, he said she had 3 patients waiting in line and could not speak to me, when I insisted, he said to call back in 20min, which means the 3 patients was a lie short consults are 15min. In that time he had told the dr how I had commented that it sounded like he had no interest in helping his patients which was based on the interaction with him. I was asking to talk to the dr since he wasn't a health professional he would not understand and was completely uncaring and combative. He tried to talk over me the whole conversation and kept telling me I was wrong. When I eventually talked to dr Nambiar, she was short, she did not want to hear anything of what I had to say and she was borderline unprofessional. I think Gordon must have talked to her to palm me off. I would not attend this surgery if I had a choice.
I so happened to see the reviews for Dr Nambiar and was disappointed at this rating…it is certainly not representative of my experiences over the last 35 years.. Over that time I have never had one single issue. She takes the time to understand what is going on and best of all takes all the time required to make correct decisions for my health. She has always gone the extra mile for me and for that I would give her 6 stars if I could.
A sole practitioner whom values personal care over rapid turnover. I was uneasy at having to change a GP after over 20 years with my previous doctor, however Dr Nambiar has provided incredible care and real concern over the years I have been in her practice. Waiting times can be a little lengthy, however you soon discover that this is because she spends whatever time is necessary with her patients to provide great care. I cannot rate her highly enough.
Unable to give 0 stars. I'd give negative if I could. This doctor is opinionated, does not listen to her patients, and jumps to conclusions about the diagnosis despite no signs of the symptoms. I spent 3 months in a drug-induced haze, unable to work or do anything enjoyable, because she refused to accept that I might have Aspergers. It almost destroyed my marriage, and certainly made trying to cope a living misery. I've since been properly assessed as classic high-functioning Aspergers-type autism, and have no need of her "I am the doctor and I know better" anti-psychotics. She might be fine for colds and sprains, but I would not trust her "I can counsel you and diagnose your mental illness" attitude at all.
It's sad that Dr Nambiar has so much bad press. I have been working with her for 8+ years and she has never been aggressive, or dismissive and has been the only doctor who has treated me like an actual person. So I don't understand why the other reviews are so negative...
Ive had a greqt experience with Dr Nambiar, she has really helped me im just upset others havent had the same experience as me.
Worst dr I have ever seen. Had a horrific experience.
