I love coming down to the spit. Perfect place to go for a swim or walk on the beach. On the weekends you can rent surfboards, SUPS and kayaks from vendors around the area. There is also plenty of places to fish and snorkel. There is a small take away shop here as well although its fairly expensive. Beach showers and public toilets are also available. Plenty of off leash dog sections to take your pet. You can go to one side if you want to swim in the surf or the other is you prefer still water. There are large sections of open beach, as well as a few more secluded areas if you want some more privacy. Plenty of shade along the left side of the spit if you want somewhere to sit while you kids play in the water.

Nice spot for hanging out on the water, plenty of parking (though it can get busy!), seating, and boat ramps. Beautiful at sunset!

Nice place for picnic. No tables ,BBQ long walk to toilet. Plenty of room for groups etc.

The park has many shops and specifically a decent little dive shop that we went for a snorkeling trip.  The dive shop was not really set up to sell equipment, like not at all, but more for tours.  We couldn't get in on a dive but did the snorkeling which for anything but a novice would be extremely boring.  The location itself is "ok", but I'm sure they could do better.

Great place to visit. Only downfall is that the toilets are quite far away from the actual park are. Parking around the park has been improved massively.
