Direct Vet Services have been a great support for our fur family. From yearly vaccines for our kitties, and helping us navigate end of life care for our pup, they were able to answer any and all questions we had. Particular shoutout to Dr Karen and vet nurse Aleisha for your kindness and care.
We had a terrible experience at this place. We saw Dr Sarah who first of all didn’t respect our time. We waited for almost 45 minutes and when our turn came she was busy chatting non work stuff that we could clearly hear at the reception so after waiting for 10 minutes we had to ask for her attention and she dropped the discussion and followed us to the room that was allocated to us. As soon as she saw our dog she diagnosed potential cancer symptoms. She sounded like a recent graduate who predominantly used medical words and didn’t explain what it means in simple terms. We had to repeatedly ask her what she meant. We didn’t trust her and decided to get second and third opinion at other vets. All the reports came out normal with no issue at all. This place looks like they want to milk money out of you. The worst part was that she decided our dog had cancerous signs before even touching our dog and checking any results and used scared tactics. Utterly unprofessional behaviour!
It is the most horrible place to bring your pet. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! They will keep asking you to revisit instead of providing a thorough care in the first instance. Unprofessional doctors and staff!!! My Labrador had severe itching issue and I decided to visit this practise. She wasn’t assessed thoroughly and just told try shampooing her. She had red skin and lost hair due to itching. They just wanted to make money so we can revisit as this wasn’t a treatment but a delay in treatment. When I called to highlight my disappointment and concern Karen, the director said there was nothing they want to do or take any responsibility. And wanted to charge me again for a revisit for the same concern. This is not just unethical but immoral to let a dog suffer because you are putting profits before the speechless pups. Doctors here are inexperienced and only working off revisits profit. Go see another Vet who can provide care with urgency. The service was so unprofessional I almost felt my Dog was seen by a nurse and not a Vet.
Always have great experiences here. Karen is beyond amazing with both our fur babies. The team have always been fantastic and helpful. Could not recommend this practice higher. Also love that I never feel rushed everything is explained in terms we understand and we always get a chance to ask questions.
Was a great visit for my cat. Although not sure why I had to see a vet again for a follow up monthly injection. But it was all sorted out for the next 6 months of visits. Reasonably priced, friendly and Meow is a happy cat again.
Happy with the appointment. Didn't take long for Jeanie to settle considering her second visit. The staff was gentle & patient throughout the visit. 10 out of 10.
I have been to direct vet services for the past 10 months since I moved to the area. The nurses are extremely helpful and nice, that was the reason why I was a regular customer. I have spent thousands in this place given I have three cats. However, What happened recently has changed my mind annot go back again. I took one of silver boy for a F1 vaccination in Nov and everything was checked fine. And in beginning of Dec I went back for a booster shot and I was told that he looked very sick and must be going through something, I explained to them that he may have got ringworms and didn’t look great but he’s healthy and active in eating playing and toileting. They have still suggested multiple tests before the Christmas. Urine tests and protein and urine were performed and they couldn’t explain to me what they suspected and then they suggested multiple blood tests, overall cost was over $600. They told me my cat may have PKD, FIV, or liver shunt. After showing them the genetic tests of the parent, they are tested negative with PKD and FIV, they said it couldn’t be liver shunt! After the last blood test they still couldn’t figure out what happened exactly and they referred to the specialist in Melbourne Cats Vet. I spoke with the specialist last week and ran through all the historical blood test direct vet has done. I was told that the urinalysis showed no signs of PKD and blood tests are all showed normal with very mid degree of inflammation but no signs or symptoms of FIV or Liver Shunt! They couldn’t understand why they would need to run an extra protein tests on urine while the first urine tests is fine. With all the blood test there’s also no sign to show he has liver shunt! All the wrong suspicion I was mentally suffered and upset during the past month. They showed zero knowledge about how to analyse and understand the blood result or urine results, all they would do was to suggest al every tests for . I will never go back to this vet again.
When I first took my dog to this vet, the vet asked me what breed she was and after telling her, she responded with "who would let that happen, the previous owners must've not taken good care of their dogs". Which is a bit inappropriate to say. Also, at another visit to the vet, we were ushered into the examination room and made to wait for 40 minutes before the vet even showed up. On another occasion, I had taken my dog to get her weighed and get her wormer tablets, I was told there was an opening for an appointment but that they were running late and booked it because my dog seemed to have something stuck in her ear. I waited for 30 minutes and decided to go to reception to ask for an estimate of how much longer it'll be. "Hi, I was just wondering how much longer you think the wait will be?" and the receptionist responded very rudely with, "I told you we were running late". They are also very overpriced compared to other places.
Great service from this vet, and gave our two pets an excellent experience. We would definitely recommend this vet to you.
