This was my first time attending Counties Medical Papakura for a broken finger/knuckle and I was genuinely impressed. I was seen by a nurse within about 10 minutes of arriving. After that, everything moved very smoothly sent for an xray within minutes, then back to see the nurse and doctor shortly after. My hand was put in a cast almost straight away.nnEvery staff member i interacted with was friendly, professional and very gentle while treating my hand which I really appreciated.nnDuring my follow up appointment 5 days later, I didn’t have an interpreter with me as I’m deaf. The nurse went above and beyond to accommodate my needs by writing everything down clearly so I could fully understand what was being discussed. The physio was also excellent, he already knew how to communicate with me and opened an interpreter app without needing any prompting, which made the whole process easy and stressfree.nnEven though the waiting room was almost full, I was seen within minutes again and quickly had my cast replaced with a custom splint.nnOverall the efficiency, care, inclusiveness and kindness of the team were outstanding. Couldn’t fault the service, highly recommendnnThanksnDean
That blonde lady receptionist was amazing. She saw me carrying my daughter in, she went out of her way and grabbed me a wheelchair before we started. Very polite, funny and service was brilliant. Wait time was fair because nurses and doctors took their time to see and they sent us to Starship which was they taken care of my child. Hats off to hardworking nurses and doctors. Have your break when you need it and God bless to you all for the amazing work for the community.
I visited this healthcare provider with my 3-year-old child who had a bleeding cut at the back of her head. The experience was extremely disappointing and concerning from a safety perspective.nnWhen we arrived, my child was bleeding through an entire sheet I placed behind her head. Despite this, the receptionist did not take the injury seriously. We waited more than 15 minutes with no assessment, triage, or reassurance. I had to repeatedly approach the receptionist and raise my voice before anyone came to check on my child.nnA nurse eventually came, but instead of examining the wound directly, she first asked my 3-year-old to hold her own hair to show the cut. This was inappropriate and delayed proper assessment.nnWhen the doctor arrived, the first thing she asked me was why I had raised my voice, rather than addressing my child’s injury. I was told it was a busy day and that I should have waited my turn. At no point did anyone check the amount of bleeding earlier or give any indication that my child was safe to wait. As a parent, I had no way of knowing whether the bleeding was serious or not.nnI have waited patiently many times for non-urgent issues like fever or general sickness, but a bleeding head wound should never be left unassessed for that long. The dismissive attitude, lack of urgency, and lack of communication made the whole situation extremely stressful.nI left feeling unheard, unsupported, and very disappointed in the standard of care. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so no other parent has to go through this in an emergency situation.
1 star for the receptionist on Oct24/2025. If you’re going to have an attitude find a job that suits your paru attitude . You’re representing that specific doctors so you should give them a good look not act like youre high and almighty, the day just started and youre acting as if youve worker a 12 hour shift like the nurses in the ED. Fix your attitude.nnAs for the nurse and korean doctor i visited, thank you for being kind and catering to our pepes needs, you are the reason people come back unlike that paru receptionist. Thank you for your work! As for the receptionist, DO BETTER!
I have visited this clinic many times & the receptionist are always so rude and grumpy. Just called to check for test results and I was shut down and the receptionist again was very rude. As someone that has previously worked as a medical receptionist myself for many years I could never imagine speaking to patients the way these “medical receptionist” do. They need to better train their staff especially because these receptionist are the first point of contact for this health clinic. Appalling service & would not recommend anyone to register here. It’s a shame because the Nurses and Drs are lovely.
