Find Subaru to be very expensive, average quality & some components relatively short life compared to other brand cars we own/owned. Customer service is very good with shuttle bus to/from city, waiting room w tea/coffee & biscuits but to me that's fluff. More care needed to ensure something as critical as proper connection of fuel filter fuel line & diagnosis of subsequent issues is more important.

Booked the car in for a service to be undertaken whilst an air bag issue was being addressed (recall). At the time of booking the car in, I asked for a quote regarding service costs and was told 'around $430'. Dropped the car in today and was told that 'will be $550'. So the quandry was - did i walk out on the spot or get the work done. Service needed to be done. It would be beneficial to employees if the person taking the booking and providing the quote were to make a notation on the vehicle records so that when a customer comes in, the employee (assuming it is not the same one who provided the quote) can see what was quoted. This would reduce the risk of perceptions of unprofessional customer service. I was also told that 'we have moved to paperless accounts' and I said that 'I still haven't received the last one' and it was like the employee never even acknowledged my comment. A simple "I will follow that up' would have sufficed. I would like to think that by the time the car is ready to be collected today, someone will be able to explain why there is a difference between the quote provided at the time the car was booked in to the time that the car was delivered to the workshop. I would also like to think that someone will be able to offer an explanation as to the whereabouts of the last invoice. Maybe they think some people will just forget about the paperwork.

Mitchell Brown was awesome, he guided me thru each of the features of the Subaru XV I was interested in before I decided on it with such expert knowledge of the details I needed to know beforehand, and gave me the confidence to close on the purchase. Amy kept me informed on the status of delivery, and even when delivery was on her off-day, she ensured Mitchell was the familiar face I trusted to accept delivery from. Mitchell ensured I got thru the paperwork part as quickly as possible and then that I knew all the stuff I needed to about the features before driving off in my new Subaru. Thanks so much for the service guys!

Customer Service very poor. Car recalled because of faulty airbag. Dealership an hours drive from home. Were told will need it all day but if you arrive after 2pm ( was a Saturday) your car will be locked in. No offer of courtesy car or taxi. Our other car too was recalled for same fault. Dropped car off chauver driven to and from work only to come back to fully washed and detailed car. Subaru you need to pick up your service.

Spoke to the parts department and they were so incredibly rude and gruff on the phone. They wouldn't even give me the part number for a washer cap that they wanted to charge $110 for! When I called to complain to the manager he said that they don't give out part numbers because then people will just go on e-bay...you think? When you charge $110 for a 10cm piece of plastic of course people will go on e-bay! Called another Subaru dealership and they gave me the part number straight away. Looked online and they are $30 from Japan. If you want to stay competitive maybe you should think about being friendly and helpful and not charging 4 times more than parts are worth.
