Absolutely loved my two night stay at Braemar House. I was in a cosy double cabin and appreciated the small touches like reading lamp, luggage rack, dress mirror, plenty of power points and plenty of pillows - so many places I've encountered that don't have these things! Was impressed with the spotless kitchen and bathroom too. Not flash but very homely and welcoming. Will definitely return.
I stayed for about 4 nights.. The rooms were hot considering it's December, I think they should at least have a small fan.nConsidering the dates, it is understandable that there were many people, quite noisy in the morning since we came for vacation for a few day. The kitchen has everything you need, although I decided not to use it because I didn't like that there are so many people in a small space.nThe whole place is very clean, something I always keep in mind in the places I stay, here the cleanliness is extremely good.nThe location is good. Close to downtown and the river!
Booked a queen deluxe room and it was tiny and had no private washroom - for 120$ you’re better off just booking an airbnb. Kitchen was fine, literally four mugs available, and bathrooms were hard to find a free shower in. I’d just stay elsewhere - heaps overpriced for a hostel not actually a Bed n Breakfast.
Nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed at! Super clean and decorated beautifully. The patio and backyard are so welcoming, it’s hard to leave. The people that run the hostel are extremely nice and helpful. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Whanganui.
My first visit to Wanganui and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. This place is great, a beautifully restored building to its former glory, with era dated furniture and charm to match. I couldn't believe there were eight types of tea and four types of coffee, all included in the very affordable rate to pick from. Highly recommended.
