Consistently tasty food and lovely friendly service every time. Even bringing the food to the car for us! Excellent fish and chips and tasty burgers, with some interesting sauces to choose such as chipotle. We are never disappointed getting takeaway from this terrific local business. Update Mar19: New owners and menu options. I wish them well. Hopefully food improves over time- my burger patty was mushy and the burger had a lot of very vinegary mustardy spread over it, which overpowered everything else. Havent tried other options, and will give them another chance.
Very polite people, good choice of food, perfect fish and chips. The steak burger is delicious. You can ask for different toppings than the menu. Good music usually playing. Close to the beach that you can stroll to for eating if you want. They have lots of tables and chairs for eating in.
Colorful cafe with delicious fresh food! Wonderful crumbed chicken sandwiches, fresh side salads and great prices. Staff was very friendly and prepared food quickly. Much better than other local restaurants we tried and a lot more affordable!
CLOSED. New owner closed shop Monday night 12/8/2019 and did a runner owing staff, Landlord and Suppliers money. No great loss as the food was far below the standards from the previous owners who successfully ran it for 13 years and he had the worst attitude anyone could have for dealing with the public.
The first thing that gives away the quality food is the name. Byron Bay fish and chips shop from the late seventies? Then the unpretentious decor being posters of Toots & Maytells, Henry Rollins and individual artists of the annual Byron Blues Festival who played locally at The Tanks. Then the funky laid back music makes one think "This ain't the usual fried chicken Shop!" Wild caught local fish any way you like it, hormone free chicken but you can still buy a hot chiko roll and coke if you must. Highly recommended as the best fish and chip shop in Australia. Well that is if you are discerning.
Visited a few years back. The fish and chips was life changing. Such a gem in Holloway's Beach. Thanks again and love from Chicago!
The shack has changed so much we use to be able to get alternative entertainment info for it was posted up on the windows it was a more relaxed scene with mags inside to read now the inside is constantly aircond why it's not even that hot at the moment, very sterile inside and the food not as good as before
Best eat in or take away in the area. Dani and Jason are great hosts. Nothing is ever a problem. Food always fresh and hot.
Fast, friendly, fresh....everything you want in a fish & chip shop! Their burgers are awesome too!
The food is good and service is excellent. Prices starting to move up and that negates five stars.
