Our issue was eventually sorted out, but one of the five different people to serve my wife and myself has to get off of their high horse. When buying Apple you pay more than you do for competitors products so you expect more. In general you get it. Suggesting to a customer that you are going to storm off because you don’t like what they are saying, and then being shocked when the customer agrees with you, only suggests that you are in the wrong job. Shame that this experience has blighted Apples copy book.
Experience in the store keeps getting better after every visit. We were attended by lovely team member Annalise. She was very helpful and professional in attending our queries. She made the trade in process so smooth. She was very knowledgeable. Thank you for the great experience
I had one of the best shopping experiences yesterday. We were looked after by Daniel. He was so nice, patient and professional. He handled all our queries with such an expertise and made sure we are understanding as well. We had some issues placing an order and trade in online, he sorted out everything for us and resolved all our problems. Thank you Daniel for helping us yesterday.
Arrived at the store with a scorching hot iPhone 14 Pro Max. Spoke to the staff member at the front who was nice enough to organise an appointment with the Genius Bar so that they can have a look at the phone. The phone was very hot to the touch even when not used, lagging, battery percentage jumping all over the place draining quickly, jumping up after restarting, the phone receiver stopped working and having to have to put the phone on speaker to be able to speak on the phone. This all happened the night before, and the phone is only 2 months old. We then were paired with a Genius Bar staff member who was extremely rude and seemed to be the “know everything” kind of person. She was very aggressive with her wording and when asked questions to her proposed “reasons” for the phone failing, she replied “I AM LOOKING AT IT NOW OKAY? I need to run tests” when she has clearly been told to run the tests. She insisted that the receiver was not a hardware issue but rather the carrier because the carrier I am with does not support 5G. When asked shouldn’t the iPhone 14 be compatible with 4G, she became aggressive once again and started insisting that it is the carrier, way before running the test on the actual speaker itself. After the extreme rudeness I asked to speak to somebody else to which she escalated the situation to the manager who came and began running the tests on the phone. The manager was nice at the beginning but then after running the tests, it was found that the receiver was found to be faulty. After cleaning it and running the test again, the receiver failed. We were then told of “our rights” under the consumer law by the manager, saying that since the phone was bought/purchased from a carrier, we must take it back to the carrier for issues like this. Being a law student and understanding consumer law, the manager was told that the manufacture and the supplier are equally liable. To which he began arguing that it isn’t a “major fault” as it does not hinder our ability from using the phone, although, we cannot make phone calls unless we are on speaker phone. He states that we are only entitled to a repair of the receiver. We requested a replacement as the issue is a major failure of the device to which he declined and stated that we are only entitled to a “repair”. The issues with the phone’s extreme heat were attributed to the way it is used or “background apps” even though it was constantly hot when not in use. We agreed to the repair and signed a data waiver form and were told to come back in an hour. Coming back, the phone was replaced due to other components found to be faulty on the repair phase. Repair team stated that upon closer inspection it had to be replaced as it was a better option. My issue is that, why does a consumer have to go through such stress to have their situation sorted? If I am not entitled to claim remedy from Apple directly, why was I offered a “repair” or why was the phone replaced? This shows that they are blatantly lying to consumers who are unaware of their legal rights. Please beware. I would give 0 stars if I could.
I was amazed at the staff engagement and the ease at which it took to replace my battery. It was busy but no one was waiting to be attended to. Very friendly staff and the communication between staff all digital. Impressive. Makes you feel valued. Coming from another country and getting such service is fulfilling to experience.
I was helped out by a technician named Nan today. She was fantastic, helpful and so friendly. The service here is amazing so I’m not sure what the Fish analogies are about in the last review. The poster of that last review sounds like she’s a fish out of water.
Had the battery on my iPhone 12 replaced out of warranty for $109. Staff all very friendly and helpful, only took 1.5 hrs to be replaced. Picked up the phone and all went well apparently no issues with the repair, phone looked & seemed okay. Got in the car and only noticed having exited the car park under direct sunlight that there is now a ton of dust/debris on the screen and in front of my front facing camera. This was never there before, the phone hadn’t been opened up until this repair. Called Apple support and all that can be offered is another appointment to “fix the issue”, Apple Store is a 1hr return trip plus petrol, and no offer of an on-site repair at my home or anything else to make it right. Bit disappointing… Update: 2nd Genius appointment booked to have this dust removed, and after 1 hour I was told they were going to just replace the front facing camera, but that it would take another 2 hours…ended up driving back again for the 3rd time the same evening rather than wait around. Finally back to normal. Probably not worth the hassle of having them replace the battery after all this…
Booked an on-the-spot phone screen repair. Genius appointment commenced 25 minutes late, followed by staff advising me the repair would now take 3 hours, as they are busy. Mentioned I wouldn’t have travelled 30 minutes to the appointment if the website advised a 3 hour wait, as I have to return to work. Requested to speak to a manager to see if my phone could be expedited, which the manager replied he’s checked their system and can confirm a genius is already working on my phone and that it won’t be too much longer. The phone was still in my pocket… Really appalling service and attitude in general. Go elsewhere for purchases and services.
I went in to apple because my phone charger port became blocked. The service technician took one look at my charging port and told me it could not be fixed, gave me a price for a new phone which required me to hand in my old handset. Obviously i was not inclined to do this. i walked 15 meters down the stairs to a unnamed phone repair shop, she resolved the issue in 15 minutes and i have my old phone back. Shocking from apple. they just want you to buy buy buy!
I just picked up my iphone 14 pro max from these guys at 8:00 AM was the second one to enter the store and got greeted with all the staff it was a really fun experience 10/10
