Im  disappointed with the way a staff member Lara spoke to me at Anytime Fitness Balwyn this evening.nnI’ve been an Anytime Fitness member for almost 10 years and, as a previous staff member at another Anytime Fitness branch, I completely understand the importance of enforcing rules around tailgating and gym access.nnHowever, the tone and manner in which I was approached today felt unnecessarily accusatory and unprofessional.nnI was asked whether I had let two people into the gym. I  explained that I did not let anyone in and hadn’t noticed anyone entering behind me, yet I continued to be spoken to as though I had done something wrong. I was then asked for my name, making me feel like my explanation was just dismissed. Again, explained that I didn’t let anyone in before being dismissed with “just be careful, I work here…..” and walks offnnA more respectful and professional approach would have gone a long way, particularly in a gym environment where many people are already trying to rebuild confidence and motivation. I personally had a difficult period of time, been out of the gym, and this evening’s workout was mentally a major struggle to get myself to. Being met with this negative interaction felt horrible before I even finished my warm up.nnEDIT:nThx for the response, however it does not address the issue raised in my review.nnMy complaint was regarding the rude, accusatory and dismissive manner in which I was spoken to by Lara, despite repeatedly explaining that I had not knowingly allowed anyone into the club.nnFurthermore, I had successfully accessed another Anytime Fitness club only days earlier using the same key, so I do not appreciate the implication that I was intentionally attempting to gain unauthorised access.nnThe issue was never the alarm. It was the way I was spoken to. Acknowledging that would have been a far more appropriate response.

I’ve been training with Daniel at Anytime Fitness and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience. His support, guidance and attention to detail have completely changed the way I approach my workouts.nnDaniel really listens, tailors sessions to suit my goals, and pushes me in a way that builds confidence rather than pressure. Thanks to him, I’m not just training consistently, I’m actually enjoying it more than ever.

Edit: I doubt most people post their real name on google reviews…anyway I have no idea about the incident you’re mentioning. I haven’t been an anytime fitness member for a year already. Funny to try and link my review to that. This was a real incident that happened just check with all the staff about whether you skipped your scheduled class to go get a coffeennReally disappointing experience…Lauren the manager is a real slackernnA while ago probably last year or year before when Lauren was listed on the class roster for a morning Pilates / yoga class, I turned up and a staff member informed me they were running late the staff member was trying to find / contact Lauren. After I waited for about 10 minutes, the same staff member apologetically informed me that the class was cancelled without providing a reason though. I left, and on the way out I saw Lauren coming into the gym with a coffee. Clearly she skipped her scheduled class to go get a coffee…. Really unprofessional….nnForgot to post this when it happened but thought I should let people know about the professionalism given it is still same management. After this experience I stopped my membership, and after I told my close friend about this, they also cancelled their membership with the Balwyn branch. Do not sign up here!nnIt is also a really squishy gym without much air circulation.

This branch feels too small for the number of members, and most equipment is old. The manual lockers are small, and some are difficult to lock. It’s almost always crowded, and hygiene isn’t great — 8 out of 10 times I noticed strong sweat odors. I’ve started driving further to another branch, which is much cleaner and has a more pleasant atmosphere. Hopefully this location will improve over time.

Amazing gym and staff! All equipment is high quality and the evolt scan is available forever! Cardio equipment is so advanced you can spend hours running and watching tour fav shows on the huge screens! Very safe and secure lockers and great parking space where no matter the time of the day you find a spot! Also there is this cute floof Sybia the german shepherd that accompanies your workout at times.. All in all it’s the gun amongst all the gyms out there!
