Can’t thank Fintona staff enough for going beyond what required to enable my daughter to achieve her ideal result for VCE and be accepted to her first preference university course this year due to her results .nStaff were so helpful and supportive !nHer English teacher head of that dept , art teacher, maths teacher & psychology teachers were outstanding , so supportive and made the classes interesting to keep students engaged in learning .nAll the extra curricular activities were fun for her also ! Definitely recommend this school to prospective students , very high accedemic level made her results possible .
This school really helps me achieve my academic goals, and most of the teachers are great except for the head middle school. Their teaching methods are great, and I have learned a lot in various subjects, more than I have at other schools, but their is too many problems between students here, like bullying and death threats. Then they tell the whole year level, and start blaming people for things ex. taking everyone’s diaries to check who wrote a death threat to a student. And with bullying, even if you tell a teacher, they actually don’t care that much, and just tells you to sort it out yourself. To summarize, this school is good if you are academically inclined, but detrimental for your mental health.
Terrible school. Does not respect the girl's wellbeing and only cares about their reputation. It is abundantly clear that the only families they show care for, are the wealthier families. The emphasis this school shows toward test scores and rankings, overshadows the development of critical thinking skills and a love for learning. Teachers do not provide equal support toward the students that need it.nCommunication with the school administration is proved to be a frustrating exercise. It has become evident that the school's primary concern is protecting its image rather than addressing legitimate issues with the students and parents.
I am a student at Fintona and all the people here are friendly many learning opportunities as a lover of music I highly recommend this school for people into music or saving the environment. Sometimes it can be stressful at this school although it may not be the best, the Senior campus is definitely the safest time to join.
as a student who was at Fintona for 4 years of her high school years, those 4 years of my time there were awful. If you are a student who needs care about your mental health for the time of your school years, i DO NOT recommend this school. they don’t assist you in any way other than offering counselling and that’s that. yes at this school you can make friends but the amount of toxic students and bullying that occurs there is INSANE. some teachers there were funny and had good teaching techniques in class but majority of the teachers seemed as if they were there just to get their pay check and leave. in fact many teachers made students feel worthless and uncomfortable, both physically and mentally. the school cares more about the colour of your hair, wearing more than one ear piercing, length of dress then about your mental health and education. the schools duty of care to provide a suitable education is not on point. i can go on and on but i choose not to.
